Virtual instructors can be used in several applications, ranging from trainers in simulated worlds to non player characters for virtual games. In this paper we present a novel algorithm for rapidly prototyping virtual instructors from human-human corpora without manual annotation. Automatically prototyping full-ﬂedged dialogue systems from corpora is far from being a reality nowadays.
The book consists of 21 chapters which present interesting applications implemented using the LabVIEW environment, belonging to several distinct fields such as engineering, fault diagnosis, medicine, remote access laboratory, internet communications, chemistry, physics, etc. The virtual instruments designed and implemented in LabVIEW provide the advantages of being more intuitive, of reducing the implementation time and of being portable.

Computer-Aided Design and system analysis aim to find mathematical models that allow emulating the behaviour of components and facilities. The high competitiveness in industry, the little time available for product development and the high cost in terms of time and money of producing the initial prototypes means that the computer-aided design and analysis of products are taking on major importance.
Freeform fabrication technology does not
require pre-formed mandrels or tooling;
instead, it builds physical objects directly
from computer graphical data. This type of
technology is also known as layer
manufacturing, since it constructs the three-
dimensional object layer by layer (Jacobs,
1992; Beaman et al., 1997). The technology
has proved that it can help to rapidly provide
feedback on design concepts, discover
inconsistencies in the design, modify the

We describe a RASSP-based design methodology for application specific signal processing systems

Nonlinear finite element analysis is an essential component of computeraided
design. Testing of prototypes is increasingly being replaced by simulation
with nonlinear finite element methods because this provides a more rapid and less
expensive way to evaluate design concepts and design details.
Information Technology, which is one of global competitive technologies in Korea,
was introduced to utilize the production area more efficiently. Chang (2006) has
reported a using of a wireless internet environment and PDA system to exchange real
time information data between the workers. Shin (2006) has presented a prototype of
block tracking system for pre-erection area using of PDA and GPS to chase the location
of each block and to exchange the pre-erection work order.
There is a critical need for improved and shorter tuberculosis (TB) treatment. Current in vitro
models of TB, while valuable, are poor predictors of the antibacterial effect of drugs in vivo.
Mathematical models may be useful to overcome the limitations of traditional approaches in
TB research. The objective of this study was to set up a prototype mathematical model of TB
treatment by rifampin, based on pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and disease submodels.
