  • A new functionalized conducting poly(5-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone-co-5-hydroxy-3-acetic acid-1,4-naphthoquinone) with electroactive quinone group was studied by in situ Raman spectroscopy. The Raman results confirmed a good reversible transformation between two structures: quinoid and hydroquinoid ones during reduction-oxidation processes.

  • Titanium Silicalite-1 (TS-1) with different contents of titanium were prepared according to the procedure as described in our report [1]. IR, Raman, XRD spectroscopies were used to identify the structure and in-framework, extra-framework titanium ions of TS-1. It is proven that Laser Raman spectroscopy is the most effective method to study the synthesis of TS-1.

  • Tungsten oxide film was deposited on ITO-coated glass by using RF magnetron sputtering method from WO3 ceramic target. Thin film preparation – process took place in Ar + O2 plasma. The dependence of tungsten oxide film structure on experiment conditions was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) Raman spectroscopy. In this paper, we considered that the thickness of ITO layers about 150nm to 350nm clearly effects on the Raman and XRD spectrograms of WO3 films.

  • Thebform of human cAMP-dependent protein kinase inhibitor (human PKIb), a novel heat-stable protein, was isolated with high yield using a bacterial expression system. Assays of PKI activity demonstrated that purified PKIb inhibits the catalytic subunit of cAMP-dependent protein kinase. FTIR, Raman spectroscopy and CD experiments implied that human PKIbcontained only small amounts of a-helix andb-structures, but large amounts of random coil and turn structures, which may explain its high thermosta-bility.

  • Resonance Raman spectroscopy has been used to observe changes in the iron–ligand stretching frequency in photo-product spectra of the proximal cavitymutant ofmyoglobin H93G. The measurements compare the deoxy ferrous state of the heme iron in H93G(L), where L is an exogenous imidazole ligand bound in the proximal cavity, to the pho-tolyzed intermediate of H93G(L)*CO at 8 ns.
