A COST EFFECTIVENESS AND PROBABILISTIC SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS OF OPPORTUNISTIC SCREENING VERSUS SYSTEMATIC SCREENING FOR SIGHT THREATENING DIABETIC EYE DISEASE Theorem 2. Any equilibrium is perfectly stratified, in the sense that no family lives

Long distance word reordering is a major challenge in statistical machine translation research. Previous work has shown using source syntactic trees is an effective way to tackle this problem between two languages with substantial word order difference. In this work, we further extend this line of exploration and propose a novel but simple approach, which utilizes a ranking model based on word order precedence in the target language to reposition nodes in the syntactic parse tree of a source sentence....
In this paper, we propose a novel ranking framework – Co-Feedback Ranking (CoFRank), which allows two base rankers to supervise each other during the ranking process by providing their own ranking results as feedback to the other parties so as to boost the ranking performance. The mutual ranking refinement process continues until the two base rankers cannot learn from each other any more. The overall performance is improved by the enhancement of the base rankers through the mutual learning mechanism.
An efficient use of lexical cohesion is described for ranking text units according to their contribution in defining the meaning of a text (textual saliency), their ability to form a cohesive subtext (textual connectivity) and the extent and effectiveness to which they address the different topics which characterize the subject matter of the text (topic aptness).

We investigate the consistency of human assessors involved in summarization evaluation to understand its effect on system ranking and automatic evaluation techniques. Using Text Analysis Conference data, we measure annotator consistency based on human scoring of summaries for Responsiveness, Readability, and Pyramid scoring.
This work describes an answer ranking engine for non-factoid questions built using a large online community-generated question-answer collection (Yahoo! Answers). We show how such collections may be used to effectively set up large supervised learning experiments. Furthermore we investigate a wide range of feature types, some exploiting NLP processors, and demonstrate that using them in combination leads to considerable improvements in accuracy.
Law schools today give the impression they are thriving. Many have magnificent
facilities with state-of-the-art technology. Their resources are the
envy of every department in the university. Law professors are among the
best paid in the academy, with sparkling credentials, and are sought after
not just as leading academic and legal figures but also as public intellectuals,
as consultants, and for important state and federal government positions.
The first decade of the twenty-first century has been a golden age of
plenty for law schools....
Vietnam has been ranked as one of the most important country in the production of things in the world since 2000. To achieve high productivity, most growers rely heavily on pesticides and chemical fertilizers, leading to increased costs, health problems of farmers, pest resistance, environmental pollution and minimizing the natural enemies and pollinators. To make the production of safe, sustainable and profitable, integrated program improvement (ICI) is necessary.
Exploring the implementation of participatory, multistakeholder, and transdisciplinary ecosystem health research, Integrated Assessment of Health and Sustainability of Agroecosystems combines the latest theories in complexity and management with practical tools and approaches for sustainable rural development research. Although the text focuses on smallholder farming communities in the central highlands of Kenya, the material discussed can be-and has been-effectively applied to agroecosystems in many other parts of the world.

We would like to know whether you feel there are areas that we should review,
and whether you think a statutory insurance code is desirable. In Part 4 of this
paper we have asked you to list those areas you think we should review, and to
rank them in order of importance. Your responses will be considered by the
Commissioners before they determine the scope of this project in the light of the
resources available to us.
A second source for private sector expenditure on R&D is the “EU Industrial R&D
Investment Scoreboard”, which has been conducted by the Institute for Prospective
Technological Studies (IPTS) that is part of the Joint Research Centre of the European
Commission. The annual Scoreboard presents information on the world’s top 1400
companies ranked by their investments in R&D. It contains data drawn from companies’
accounts, most recently for the fiscal year 2009.
R&D indicators, such as R&D intensity, vary in line with the business cycle.
Why is benchmarking SIEM important? According to the National Institute of Standards (NIST),
SIEM software is a relatively new type of centralized logging software compared to syslog. Our
SANS Log Management Survey1
shows 51 percent of respondents ranked collecting logs as their
most critical challenge – and collecting logs is a basic feature a SIEM system can provide. Further,
a recent NetworkWorld article2
explains how different SIEM products typically integrate well with
selected logging tools, but not with all tools.
Over the centuries, from Edward Jenner to Bill Gates, as our scientific
understanding of diseases has increased, so has the focus on prioritizing
new vaccines to help achieve better health. Despite the expanding interest
in and support toward improving global health, constraints inherent to
vaccine development and delivery present decision makers with difficult
choices. Given the lack of effective tools and models to assist the decisionmaking
process, renewed attention is needed to improve the approaches
available for priority setting and for guiding investment decisions....
The contribution of VLEs to institutional knowledge management is considered.
Knowledge management has received little attention in education, and a small scale,
self-selecting sample online survey was used to identify the contribution of VLEs to this
Unless the number of first year Ph.D. students is really big, the professors will know you
by name or at least recognize you outside the classroom. It is to your advantage to have good
relations with professors from the first year onwards, even tough you don’t do any (or much)
research in your first year. Going to office hours and classroom discussions will contribute to
this. It is also a good idea to attend the social events organized by your department, not only to
have some time to relax, but also to chat with professors and other students and at...
While interaction operates on impressions, people are often naturally (or neurotically)
motivated to suppress their own desires in order to please others (Rank 1932; Moustakas
1972). In other words, they seek to create a good impression. Social conformity, or
collective action, relies on this behavior. The internal need to conform and the fear of
perceived social gatekeepers creates a mechanism for society to be regulated by social
A new problem in 2008, “Undocumented Workers (Illegal Aliens)” ranks 70th and is a
critical issue for 11 percent of small business owners. Despite strong and diverse opinions on
this issue and the extensive press coverage on it, undocumented workers are not a top-of-
the-line issue for small business people in their business ownership capacity. The principle
reason for concern is the problems that arise from unfair competition by those hiring illegal
immigrants. Such competition apparently is not a pressing issue for many.
In Cross-Language Information Retrieval (CLIR), Out-of-Vocabulary (OOV) detection and translation pair relevance evaluation still remain as key problems. In this paper, an English-Chinese Bi-Directional OOV translation model is presented, which utilizes Web mining as the corpus source to collect translation pairs and combines supervised learning to evaluate their association degree.
