Being capable of publishing in peer-reviewed journals is commonly seen as an indicator of
proper scientific research. It is the duty of a researcher to publish his results for the
scientific community. Research can be seen as a product that must be sold to the target
audience in the form of an article. In other words, research results do not exist before they
are successfully published. The key people for getting one’s article accepted for
publication are the editor-in-chief, editor, and reviewers.
What you need to do depends mainly on the age of the vehicle and the standards applicable in its
original sales market. Generally speaking, you are unlikely to have significant problems importing a
vehicle from the European Union except to ensure that the lighting and mirrors are set up for left hand
traffic and the speedometer includes an m.p.h. display. Cars from other parts of the world might need
extensive modification before they can be used in Britain. (You should not assume that a vehicle
which seems to be similar in appearance is identical to a model already available in...
In this section of the questionnaire, students were asked to indicate the extent or
degree of agreement to the 11 course objective statements, based on a five-point
Likert scale with one for strongly disagree, three for neutral and five for strongly
In general, the majority of students either agreed or strongly agreed that
the course had fulfilled its objectives, except probably for the improvement of
grammar accuracy (Item No. 9) (see Table 7).
The issue of liability is most relevant where custody is delegated. According to Article 22(2),
the depositary's liability "shall not be affected by the fact that it has entrusted to a third party
all or some of the assets in its safe-keeping". The UCITS Directive contains no further
provisions governing liability for the loss of a financial instrument where custody has been
delegated to a third party. This issue is left to the general principle expressed in Article 22(2),
which gives a wide margin of interpretation to Member States.
This new report provides updated and additional information about the European microfinance
market and current developments in the microfinance area. Moreover, it gives insights into the
intervention logic, rationale for EU support, and mandate development considerations of the EIF
in this field.
More precisely, following a short introduction, we provide in the second section (general market
overview) updated information for selected aspects of microfinance in Europe.
Namely, it was shown that if the two goods are complements retailers are
able to discriminate between the more informed consumers (the shoppers) and the less
informed ones (the captives) by enticing the former with one of the goods on a deep
discount while taxing the latter by keeping the overall price tag high. This practice
requires that the retailers are able to charge dierent combinations of prices that have
a xed sum and yet induce consumers to buy both goods.
This thesis is organised into seven chapters. Chapter One presents a general introduction to
the study. This provides an overview of the thesis, including the background and motivation
for the study, its main objectives, promising contributions, the methodology and the structure
of the thesis.
Chapter Two critically reviews the literature on mutual fund performance. The
chapter begins with the performance measures proposed in the literature, together with
empirical results for developed markets.
Indeed, these tough times can be seen as an opportunity for the industry to reinvent
itself. Perhaps, the industry has moved beyond the first phase, in which it established
itself as a part and parcel of the investment matrix. The industry needs to evolve again
to strengthen its position and proposition. It is probably time to question established
wisdom and explore alternatives.
In the present situation, there may be no single ‘silver bullet’ solution, but it will
require a multitude of initiatives to be taken across the entire spectrum of activities of a
The 2000 census also documents the languages spoken at home by
members of the population who were 5 years old and older. Whereas
82.1% (more than 215 million people) report speaking only English at
home, 17.9% (nearly 47 million people) report speaking a language other
than English at home. Of these, more than 21 million people (8.1% of the
total U.S. population over the age of 5) report that they “speak English less
than ‘very well’” (U.S. Bureau of the Census, 2003).
“The class focuses on the likely roles that business professionals
will have in regard to information systems: end-user, manager,
and innovator,” said CIS Department Chairman Dr. Richard
Mathieu. “In order to accomplish these goals, the hands-on
component of the class focuses on collaboration and workl ow.”
After gaining admittance to the College of Business, a CIS stu-
dent’s junior campaign begins with a 12-credit integrated course
in which students create a business plan.
This is an arrangement more commonly adopted for complex building construc-
tions rather than for civil engineering works. Under it the promoter appoints
one contractor to manage all the construction inputs by letting contracts him-
self. These ‘works contracts’ are effectively sub-contracts to the management
contractor. Many may be labour-only contracts, while others are for ‘supply and
erect’. The promoter may retain rights to approve or disapprove appointment of
a works contractor.
Bolted body panels have become increasingly common over recent years, with many vehicles now using bolted
front wings, front panel assemblies, bonnet slam panels and bumper bar supports. Obviously accident damage
on such cars is much easier to repair, allowing simpler removal/refit of panels, and also easier preparation and
painting in some cases. Panels can be prepared, primed and painted "off-the-car" if a good colour match is
A close visual inspection usually shows exactly where a particular panel is bolted.
With digital evidence, technology is always needed to process the digital data and therefore
the only difference between a forensic and a non-forensic investigation of digital data is whether
or not the evidence can be used in a court of law. A forensic investigation is a process that uses
science and technology to develop and test theories, which can be entered into a court of law, to
answer questions about events that occurred.
While the potential of social media for enhancing learning opportunities is substantial, it
should be noted that in 2009, according to Eurostat data, 30%Europeans aged 16 to 74 had
still never used the Internet. While this figure dropped from 42% in 2006 by 12 percentage
points in only three years, in a number of European countries more than half of the population
has never used the Internet.
Furthermore, the following technical, pedagogical and organisational bottlenecks have been
identified, which may hinder the take up and mainstreaming of Learning 2.

developed an approach for estimating
the net nitrogen inputs to a region N that is highly
correlated with average nitrogen transport in the rivers
draining temperate regions (Fig. 2). Net N input to a region
was defined as sum of N in fertilizer used, biological N
fixation of agricultural crops, oxidized N in atmospheric
deposition in the region, and the N in food and feed
imported to the region minus the N in food and feed
exported from the region. This approach assumes that
there is no net gain or loss of N from soil organic matter.
The former NOP director
Audit Report 01601-03-Hy 3
7 stated that the decision not to require regular residue testing was based on officials’ concerns about the cost of testing, and their position that the NOP regulations are process-based rather than a zero tolerance standard. The former director also stated that certifying agents did not want to pay for the cost of residue testing and that residue testing raises complex issues that must be addressed on an operation-by-operation basis.
Brentano and Meinong differ further in their respective accounts of the interrelations between
the given categories. For whilst both see judgments as presupposing, i.e. as being dependent on,
associated presentations, the Meinongian framework allows also a presupposition or
dependence in the opposition direction: a presentation, too, may be dependent on a moment of
conviction in the sense that it is associated with the disposition to make judgments of a given
From a performance standpoint, the progression of Moore’s law means that more and more processing cores are now being
packed into each CPU. Data volumes are growing faster than expected under Moore’s law, however, so companies need to
plan to grow the capacity and performance of their systems over time by adding new nodes. To meet this need, Greenplum
makes it easy to expand and leverage the parallelism of hundreds or thousands of cores across an ever-growing pool of
Only staff who are authorized to disclose information would post it on social media. Therefore, the
same or similar sign-off processes as traditional media would normally apply. However, the speed and
informal nature of social media generate a higher risk of accidental or inappropriate disclosure, which
must be guarded against by ensuring that clear practices and procedures are developed and that
all staff are aware of these and adhere to them.
The Frame helps to address the questions, “How do we decide what information to include?”
and “How do we ensure that consumers can understand the information about financial
sharing policies and their personal information?” The testing quickly showed that consumers
were relatively uninformed about financial privacy. They needed basic information about
financial sharing practices to comprehend the disclosures that a GLBA notice is intended to
