This book consolidates all the best functionality of pivot tables into one guide that provides you with a meaningful tutorial, offering practical solutions to day-to-day problems.
Within just the first 2 chapters, you will be creating basic pivot tables, increasing productivity, and producing reports in minutes instead of hours.
How much does household collateral constrain regional risk sharing? construct a new data set of consumption and income data for the largest U.S. metropolitan areas, and we show that the extent of risk-sharing between regions varies substantially over time. In times when US housing collateral is scarce nationally, regional consumption is about twice as sensitive to income shocks.
Economic development professionals can use this strategic framework in a variety of different ways. As a first
step, it is useful in mapping current regional economic development activities. In most regions, these activities
are spread across a variety of different organizations. Leaders of these organizations often do not
communicate effectively with each other. By listing each organization’s major focus and activities on the grid,
important patterns and gaps emerge.
This paper investigates an application of the ranked region algebra to information retrieval from large scale but unannotated documents. We automatically annotated documents with document structure and semantic tags by using taggers, and retrieve information by specifying structure represented by tags and words using ranked region algebra. We report in detail what kind of data can be retrieved in the experiments by this approach.

Macroeconomic Analysis Using Regional Data: An Application to Monetary Policy
Increasingly, macroeconomists have come to recognize that subnational economies, such as those of regions and urban areas, are useful laboratories for examining theory and policy.
A major U.S. regional carrier needs to create a high-speed data network
using its existing voice infrastructure in more than 300 metropolitan and
rural markets. Without this service upgrade, the carrier stands to lose
significant high-value business and residential customers to new
providers of high-speed services in many of its key markets.
Design and deploy a DSLAM solution rapidly and efficiently while
maintaining the highest standards of quality with each deployment.
“There is no such thing as an easy experiment, nor is there any substitute for careful
experimentation in many areas of basic research and applied product development.”
From Experimental Methods for Engineers by J. P. Holman
Measurement is a multidisciplinary experimental science. Measurement systems
synergistically blend science, engineering and statistical methods to provide
fundamental data for research, design and development, control of processes and
operations, and facilitate safe and economic performance of systems.
Subsequently, the 1996 Nepal Family Health Survey, the 2001 Nepal Demographic and Health
Survey and the 2006 Nepal Demographic and Health surveys were conducted. This trend report
discusses key findings from these three DHS surveys in Nepal. All three Nepal DHS surveys sampled
nationally representative populations, were conducted by the same organization (New ERA Ltd.), and
managed by the same core group of survey personnel.
In English text files, common words (e.g., "is", "are", "the") or similar patterns of character strings (e.g., lze\ lth\ iing'1} are usually used repeatedly. It is also observed that the characters in an English text occur in a well-documented distribution, with letter "e" and "space" being the most popular. 2. In numeric data files, often we observe runs of similar numbers or predictable interdependency amongst the numbers. 3. The neighboring pixels in a typical image are highly correlated to each other, with the pixels in a smooth region of an image having similar values. 4.
With globalisation and knowledge-based production, firms may cooperate on a global scale, outsource
parts of their administrative or productive units and negate location altogether. The extremely low transaction
costs of data, information and knowledge seem to invalidate the theory of agglomeration and the spatial clustering
of firms, going back to the classical work by Alfred Weber (1868-1958) and Alfred Marshall (1842-1924), who
emphasized the microeconomic benefits of industrial collocation.
While most consumers still base their travel decisions largely on price, value for money,
service and availability, more and more people are taking environmental factors into
The railway community is therefore working hard to provide customers with comprehensive
information on climate change, air pollution and the ‘external costs’ of transport.
New internet-based tools, such as EcoPassenger and EcoTransIT (see Figure 6), are
making a range of data available to customers.
This study to develop AQ pollutant datasets for each of the constituent countries of the UK has been commissioned by Defra in order to better inform energy and environmental policy-makers within the Devolved Administrations in their pursuit of objectives set by the Air Quality Strategy for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland (AQS for ESWNI). These objectives also contribute to the UK’s targets as a whole in terms of meeting both national and international targets on both local and transboundary air pollution....
Risk/return summary information in interactive format requires a standard list of
tags. These tags are similar to definitions in an ordinary dictionary, and they cover a
variety of concepts that can be read and understood by software applications. For the
risk/return summary, a mutual fund will use the most recent list of tags for risk/return
summary information released by XBRL U.S.
The continuing explosion in data sources and volumes strains and exceeds the scalability of traditional data management
and analytical architectures. Decades old legacy architecture for data management and analytics is inherently unfit for
scaling to today’s big data volumes. These systems require huge outlays of resources and technical intervention in a losing
battle to keep pace with demand for faster time to intelligence and deeper insight.
In today’s business climate, every leading organization finds itself in the data business.
This book highlights methodological approaches for the economics of sustainable
development and brings together recent empirical work done in India, especially by
Dr. Surender Kumar and Dr. Shunsuke Managi. Various chapters in this book use
Indian data to show the very wide applicability of methodologies in the theory of
production for dealing with many empirical issues of environmentally sustainable
development in a developing country.
During the diagnosis of oral and maxillofacial diseases, clinical and radiological data play a
major role. In this region, only a good clinical diagnosis along with a radiological examination
may lead to a successful diagnosis. A successful diagnosis and evaluation of clinical
examination are generally up to a profound knowledge of the normal anatomy of the region.
In this paper, we distinguish the risk of credit spread changes, if no default occurs, and the
risk of the default event itself. We use credit spread data of many different firms and historical
default rates to estimate the size of the default jump risk premium, along with the risk prices of
credit spread changes. We show that, in order to fully explain the size of expected excess
corporate bond returns, an economically and statistically significant default jump risk premium
is necessary, on top of the risk premia that are due to the risk of credit spread changes....
The reverse is true of collection agencies, which provide information to the repositories,
but do not use credit data to evaluate consumer creditworthiness, although they may use
information in credit reports to locate debtors. Repositories also obtain information by
requesting it from public records and government entities and when certain government
entities report directly to the repositories, such as for delinquent child or family support
payments, unpaid parking tickets, or overpayments of unemployment benefits.
