This preface describes the purpose, intended audience, organization, and conventions
for the Cisco IP Telephony Network Design Guide. This document serves as an implementation guide for Cisco AVVID (Architecture
for Voice, Video and Integrated Data) networks based on Cisco CallManager
Release 3.0(5). With such a high level of industry interest regarding IP telephony,
customers are aggressively pursuing Cisco solutions for both large and small
networks. Solutions based on Cisco CallManager Release 3.0(5) allow Cisco to
deliver large-scale IP telephony systems with many capabilities....
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (the “Port Authority”) is a complex
organization, comprised of billions of dollars of vital infrastructure and transportation
operations as well as significant real estate holdings. Navigant Consulting, Inc.
In the euphoria over IT and the Internet in the 1990s and early
2000s, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) took center
stage. Most every major company invested heavily in broad suites of
demand side applications that were supposed to transform interactions
with customers and drive sales and profitability. The logic behind
CRM seemed compelling, and companies invested to the tune of
tens of billions of dollars. Siebel Systems, among others, attained the
status of a stock market darling as sales of software licenses grew exponentially.
The purpose of writing this book is to produce a text suitable for students
in Further and/or Higher Education who are required to learn how to
use the computer-aided design (CAD) software package AutoCAD®
2011. Students taking examinations based on CAD will find the contents
of the book of great assistance. The book is also suitable for those in
industry wishing to learn how to construct technical drawings with the
aid of AutoCAD 2011 and those who, having used previous releases of
AutoCAD, wish to update their skills to AutoCAD 2011....
The Channel Strategy and Plan is a managed document. For identification of amendments, each page contains a release number and a page number. Changes will be issued only as a complete replacement document. Recipients should remove superseded versions from circulation. This document is authorized for release after all signatures have been obtained.
This book is about a marriage of two compatible yet unlikely partners.
Extreme Programming (XP) is a software development methodology that
enables users, business people, programmers, and computers to communicate
effectively. Perl is a dynamic programming language that lets an XP
team embrace the inevitable change caused by effective communication. Perl
the fixer and doer of the pair, and XP is the organizer and facilitator. Together
they help you build robust software applications efficiently.
Like any good marriage, the partners of Extreme Perl support each other....
Examples ranged from gory low-budget horror to the sexploitation
films of Russ Meyer. Elements of independent ‘exploitation’ strategy
were also embraced by Hollywood in its more mainstream, blockbuster
productions, especially the strategy of combining wide opening release
patterns with saturation advertising, in order to recoup costs quickly.
A number of Hollywood’s biggest-grossing films of the 1970s were, in
part, bigger-budget and glossier versions of independent exploitation
fare, especially The Exorcist (1973) and Jaws (1975)....
The governor’s office has expressed the view that, since Planned Parenthood affiliates
constitute just 2% of WHP providers, patients would have little difficulty finding alternative
providers. Our analysis indicates that in the markets they serve, Planned Parenthood affiliates
serve half, and sometimes much more than half, of all WHP patients.

An event fact sheet differs from a press release in that it includes only the bare bones of the event,
answering the important questions of who, what, where, when, and why. It can be sent either in lieu of or
in conjunction with a press release. Event fact sheets should be sent to the Calendar/Events Editor. Every
publication’s deadline differs slightly, but most are around two weeks before publication. Monthly
magazines will have earlier deadlines. Check with the publication for an exact deadline. See Appendix 3
for a sample event fact sheet.
Providing the board conducted one, the previous year’s executive performance eval-
uation most likely includes an action plan for the current year, with developmental
goals for the executive. Include these in the evaluation; if not attended to, an excel-
lent reason needs to be provided.
The executive job description should list major areas for which the executive is respon-
sible. It’s essential that the board review this in preparation for the job evaluation, espe-
cially if your board has never evaluated its director.
Looking ahead, those surveyed expect the lead director to delve further into shareholder
and governance issues, be more involved in risk management, drive succession planning
to ensure the process produces top leaders, and strengthen the independence of the board.
On the horizon also are issues related to how the lead director’s role will change if compa-
nies alter their organizational structure. At the surveyed companies, 67 percent still have a
combined position of board chairman-CEO despite increasing pressures from stakeholders
and regulators to split these functions.
The information security concern regarding information disposal and media sanitization
resides not in the media but in the recorded information. The issue of media disposal and
sanitization is driven by the information placed intentionally or unintentionally on the media.
With the advanced features of today’s operating systems, electronic media used on a system
should be assumed to contain information commensurate with the security categorization of
the system’s confidentiality.
Based on the results of categorization, the system owner should refer to NIST Special
Publication (SP) 800-53, Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems,
which specifies that, “the organization sanitizes information system digital media using
approved equipment, techniques, and procedures. The organization tracks, documents, and
verifies media sanitization and destruction actions and periodically tests sanitization
equipment/procedures to ensure correct performance.
At the end of this module, you will be able to define and understand the
infrastructure development process and what it takes to prepare for deployment
of a wide variety of technologies. Specifically, this module presents concepts
and processes necessary to take the vision, functional specification, and plans
from previous milestones and develop what is necessary for the deploying

The FCC has taken steps to push today’s television broadcasters to use spectrum more
efficiently, adopting standards to allow television broadcasters to consume less spectrum
(albeit at the cost for public television broadcasters of providing less service), and developing a
framework for voluntary auctions to free spectrum for other uses. The FCC is scheduled to
release specific plans for these auctions during FY 2013. These plans will have service and
economic implications for public broadcasting.
The Global Employment Initiative worldwide has placed a large number of family members in
private sector, educational institutions, International NGOs, consultants, and home-based
businesses, foreign government, and other sectors. Usually an eligible family member arrives at
Post and makes an appointment with the Global Employment Advisor (GEA) and then works out
a marketing plan and in short, start the employment process.
