ĐỊNH NGHĨA RTM (resin transfer molding) là phương pháp dùng áp suất thấp đưa nhựa vào trong khuôn kín, tạo sản phẩm composite có sự kiểm soát chặt chẽ về hình dạng preform (sợi) và nhựa. Sản phẩm có hàm lượng sợi cao chiếm 40-50%. RTM có thể tạo sản phẩm từ đơn giản, tinh năng thấp đến sản phẩm phức tạp có tính năng cao, từ sản phẩm có kích thước nhỏ đến kích thước rất lớn. Phương pháp rất thuận lợi khi đưa vào sản xuất lớn.

  • This paper presents the result of research on equipment development of vacuum injection molding technique for preparation the chopped bamboo fiber polymer composite and some properties of obtained composite material. For the vacuum injection molding technique, firstly the dry fibers were plated in the mold. Then the mold was closed by the vacuum bag, the air inside the mold was sucked out by a vacuum pump, due to the difference of the pressure in side and outside the mold, the polymer liquid was transferred to the closed mold and impregnated the bamboo fiber.

  • This paper will show the results of the first experiments to get nano-clay clay composite materials based on modified polystyrene resin by melt - mix method. The intercalated nanocomposite structures are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) techniques. Polystyrene nano-composites with 2% nanoclay by weight exhibit an increases about 10% in impact resistance and they also lower the water absortion (nearly 60% compared with polystyrene resin) without any significant loss of tensile strength, flexural strength and flexural modulus.

  • The mechanical and electrical properties of polymer composite materials based on bamboo wafer reinforced phenol formaldehyde resin have been studied. The tensile, flexural and impact strengths of composite materials have been decreased significantly when using the short bamboo fibre instead of the bamboo wafer.

  • The outer layer had significantly higher SG and bending properties than the inner layer. The SG varied along the culm height. The top portions had consistently higher SG than the base. Bending strength had a strong positive correlation with SG. In order to industrially use bamboo strips efficiently, it is advisable to remove minimal surface material to produce high strength bamboo composites. Compression properties parallel to the longitudinal direction was significantly higher than perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

  • Two chemical treatments were applied to jute fibers to create a better bonding of fiber to resin in natural composite materials. The jute fibers have been treated with hydroxide potassium (KOH) and a bleaching agent, canxi hypochlorite (Ca(OCl)2.4H2O), in varying periods. Characterization techniques such as FT-IR, SEM were used to evaluate the effect of chemical treatments on fiber structure. After treatment the surface topography of jute was clean and microfibrils were revealed, these lead to an enhancement in mechanical properties and interfacial strength between jute fiber and PP.

  • Oil absorbent nanocomposites were prepared by suspension copolymerization of laurylmethacrylate (LMA) and styrene (St) with and whithout Fe3O4 nanoparticles and divinylbenzene (DVB) crosslinker.
