  • Perhaps no other “success” book has influenced more people than Napoleon Hill’s Classic “Think and Grow Rich.” Since it’s introduction in 1937, millions of copies have been sold around the world. It still remains one of the top selling books of its kind. Several months ago I came across an audiobook biography of Hill and it was an eye-opening adventure into the life of a man whose days were not the “smooth sailing” I had always assumed they were.

  • When The Science of Getting Rich arrived in the mail that afternoon I immediately ripped open the package, sat down, and read it with an open mind — mostly because the title was just so intriguing. And even though I must admit I found some of the old-fashioned language and some of the ideas in the first part a bit confusing, there was something about it that compelled me to reread those little confusing bits two or three times until — I got it!

The problem is, these investor requirements also shield the average investor from some of the best investments in the world, which is one reason why rich dad’s advice to the average investor was, “Don’t be average.”

It is intended for the men and women whose most pressing need is for money; who wish to get rich first, and philosophize afterward. It is for those who have, so far, found neither the time, the means, nor the opportunity to go deeply into the study of metaphysics, but who want results and who are willing to ...

  • In this time of mass communication, rich people like us know very well the horrible conditions in which many poor people must live. In "Affluent in the Face of Poverty" Jos Philips wonders what we should do about poverty. The book argues that if we can do great good at little cost to ourselves, we ought to do so - and perhaps we ought to do great good even if the cost to ourselves of doing so, is not small. Also, it is argued that rich individuals like us can often, at little cost to ourselves, undertake a number of...

  • In this paper we report our work on building a POS tagger for a morphologically rich language- Hindi. The theme of the research is to vindicate the stand that- if morphology is strong and harnessable, then lack of training corpora is not debilitating. We establish a methodology of POS tagging which the resource disadvantaged (lacking annotated corpora) languages can make use of.

  • We present experiments with part-ofspeech tagging for Bulgarian, a Slavic language with rich inflectional and derivational morphology. Unlike most previous work, which has used a small number of grammatical categories, we work with 680 morpho-syntactic tags. We combine a large morphological lexicon with prior linguistic knowledge and guided learning from a POS-annotated corpus, achieving accuracy of 97.98%, which is a significant improvement over the state-of-the-art for Bulgarian.

  • Transition-based dependency parsers generally use heuristic decoding algorithms but can accommodate arbitrarily rich feature representations. In this paper, we show that we can improve the accuracy of such parsers by considering even richer feature sets than those employed in previous systems. In the standard Penn Treebank setup, our novel features improve attachment score form 91.4% to 92.9%, giving the best results so far for transitionbased parsing and rivaling the best results overall. For the Chinese Treebank, they give a signficant improvement of the state of the art. ...

  • This paper describes our work on building Part-of-Speech (POS) tagger for Bengali. We have use Hidden Markov Model (HMM) and Maximum Entropy (ME) based stochastic taggers. Bengali is a morphologically rich language and our taggers make use of morphological and contextual information of the words. Since only a small labeled training set is available (45,000 words), simple stochastic approach does not yield very good results. In this work, we have studied the effect of using a morphological analyzer to improve the performance of the tagger. ...

  • The RAGS proposals for generic specification of NLG systems includes a detailed account of data representation, but only an outline view of processing aspects. In this paper we introduce a modular processing architecture with a concrete implementation which aims to meet the RAGS goals of transparency and reusability. We illustrate the model with the RICHES system – a generation system built from simple linguisticallymotivated modules.
