Average depth model has a variety of applications in hydraulic engineering,
especially in applications that flow depth is much smaller than the width of the flow.
In this method the vertical variation is negligible and the hydraulic variables
average integrated from channel bed to the surface free for the vertical axis. in
equations arising management, pure hydrostatic pressure is assumed that
not really valid in the case of flow in the bed is curved and can not be described
curvature effects of the bed.

A wide range of topics are covered in this book, including the theoretical, experimental, and numerical investigations on various subjects related to hydrodynamic problems. The book consists of twelve chapters, each of which is edited separately and deals with a specific topic. The book is intended to be a useful reference to the readers who are working in this field....
Abstract Although gait change is considered a useful indicator of severity in animal models of Parkinson's disease, systematic and extensive gait analysis in animal models of neurological deficits is not well established. The CatWalk-assisted automated gait analysis system provides a comprehensive way to assess a number of dynamic and static gait parameters simultaneously. In this study, we used the Catwalk system to investigate changes in gait parameters in adult rats with unilateral 6-OHDA-induced lesions and the...
The purpose of this paper is to carry out the abelianization program proposed by Atiyah and Hitchin for the geometric quantization of SU(2) Wess-Zumino-Witten model. Let C be a Riemann surface of genus g. Let Mg be the moduli space of semi-stable rank 2 holomorphic vector bundles on C with trivial determinant. For a positive integer k, let Γ(Mg , Lk ) be the space of holomorphic sections of the k-th tensor product of the determinant line bundle L on Mg . An element of Γ(Mg , Lk ) is called a rank 2 theta function...
We describe a simple variant of the interpolated Markov model with non-emitting state transitions and prove that it is strictly more powerful than any Markov model. Empirical results demonstrate that the non-emitting model outperforms the interpolated model on the Brown corpus and on the Wall Street Journal under a wide range of experimental conditions. The nonemitting model is also much less prone to overtraining. The remainder of our article consists of four sections.
What are the compelling reasons for carrying out dynamic speech modeling? We provide the answer in two related aspects. First, scientific inquiry into the human speech code has been relentlessly pursued for several decades. As an essential carrier of human intelligence and knowledge, speech is the most natural form of human communication. Embedded in the speech code are linguistic (as well as para-linguistic) messages, which are conveyed through four levels of the speech chain.
Nowadays, there are many methods to study shoreline change in coastal engineering. Among them, mathematical methods are considered as effective ones that have been used for a long time. LITPACK is a numerical model in MIKE software package, developed by Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI), for simulating non‐cohesive sediment transport in wave and currents, littoral drift, coastline evolution and profile development along ...
The system of three-dimensional hydrodynamic-environmental models could simulate full advection and dispersion processes of the dissolved and particulate matter as suspended sediment and all oil phases in the realistic marine conditions. The hydrodynamic model provides temperature, salinity and current structure and water level. These variables will be used in the environmental model simulating the advection and diffusion processes for suspended matter concentration, bottom sediment thickness and all oil spill phases in the water and bottom sediment.
Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is an important component of GIS applications in many socio-economic areas. Especially, DEM has a very important role in monitoring and managing natural resources, preventing natural hazards, and supporting spatial decision making. Usually, DEM is built by interpolation from a limited set of sample points. Thus, the accuracy of the DEM is depended on the used interpolation method.
We study the ac-conductivity in linear response theory in the general framework of ergodic magnetic Schr¨dinger operators. For the Anderson model, o if the Fermi energy lies in the localization regime, we prove that the ac1 conductivity is bounded from above by Cν 2 (log ν )d+2 at small frequencies ν. This is to be compared to Mott’s formula, which predicts the leading term to 1 be Cν 2 (log ν )d+1 .
Remote Control Transmitter: (refer to the schematics and block diagram on p.31 as needed)
When the levers in the Remote Control Unit are pushed electrical contacts are made connecting the 9V battery
power to the transmitter and indicating which commands the user wants sent to the car. Forwards/Backwards
and Left/Right commands are controlled by different levers and use different sets of electrical contacts that are
used to encode a sequence of electrical pulses; the number of pulses depends on which command is being
We proposed in this paper an approach for checking the conformability in CORBA component model specifications. In software engineering, it is demonstrated that discovering bugs in earlier phases is much more economical than later phases. We focused thus on verifying components by their ports specification. In order to do this, firstly we determined constraints on kinds of port as well as on types of port which the connection between ports must satisfy, and then formalized them to be able to prove automatically using formal prover tools.
This paper describes a numerical model for the simulation of near shore wave dynamics and bottom topography change. In this part, the nearshore wave dynamics is simulated by solving the depth integrated Boussinesq approximation equations for nearshore wave transformation together with continuity equation with a Crank‐Nicholson scheme. The wave runup on beaches is simulated by a scheme, similar to the Volume Of Fluid (VOF) technique.
The lake ecosystem of Hanoi has a very important role. However, the water quality in the lakes of Hanoi is declining; they're more and more polluted. Among that, eutrophication is the most popular one. Therefore, the assessment and prediction of eutrophication is necessary. One of the effective tools for assessing and predicting eutrophycation is the use of mathematical models. In this paper, we used the Vollenweider model, empirical watershed model and Jorgensen model to determine the eutrophycation of Bay Mau Lake by phosphorous concentration in the lake water.
The potential evapotranspiration can be directly calculated by the Penman-Monteith equation, known as the one-step method. The approach requires data on the land cover and relatedvegetation parameters based on AVHRR and LDAS information, which are available in recent years. The Nong Son Basin, a sub-catchment of the Vu Gia - Thu Bon Basin in the Central Vietnam, is selected for this study. To this end, NAM model was used; the obtained results show that the NAM model has a potential to reproduce the effects of potential...
SWAT model was used to assess the impacts of climate change on the streamflow of Ben Hai River Basin. The daily streamflow for 1979 - 1996 and 1997 - 2006 was used to calibrate and validate the SWAT model, respectively. Nash efficiency values for the daily comparison were 0.72 for the calibration period and 0.74 for the validation period. Three scenarios were analyzed relative to the baseli ne with 28-year time series. A doubling of the atmospheric C02 content to 660 ppm (while holding other climatic variables) resulted in a 7.
The papers present the results of study on application of rainfall-runoff, channel routing models for improvement and extending forecast lead time and Diffusion Hydrodynamic Model (DHM) for inundation warning of Tra Khuc and Ve river basins. Keywords: Time of concentration Tc, update of forecast errors, flood forecast, inundation warning.
1. Introduction∗ For river basins in the central coastal provinces, the rivers has steep terrain, plains adjacent to the sea are relatively flat, so every year, floods and flash floods caused heavy damage to persons and property of people in the areas.
By entering the East Asian economic model (EAEM) in the 1950s, the Thai economy was committed to the export-oriented, import-substituting low labour-cost manufacturing paradigm that Vietnam and Cambodia have more recently embraced. The EAEM provides for some success in expanding employment in the manufacturing sector and promoting income generation for its workers and, overall, in promoting national economic development.
This paper reports the on-going research of a thesis project investigating a computational model of early language acquisition. The model discovers word-like units from crossmodal input data and builds continuously evolving internal representations within a cognitive model of memory. Current cognitive theories suggest that young infants employ general statistical mechanisms that exploit the statistical regularities within their environment to acquire language skills.
To understand a speaker's turn of a conversation, one needs to segment it into intonational phrases, clean up any speech repairs that might have occurred, and identify discourse markers. In this paper, we argue that these problems must be resolved together, and that they must be resolved early in the processing stream. We put forward a statistical language model that resolves these problems, does POS tagging, and can be used as the language model of a speech recognizer.
