TheMIT Press series on Economic Learning and Social Evolution reflects
the continuing interest in the dynamics of human interaction. This issue
has provided a broad community of economists, psychologists, biolo-
gists, anthropologists, mathematicians, philosophers, and others, with
a sense of common purpose so strong that traditional interdisciplinary
boundaries havemelted away.We reject the outmoded notion thatwhat
happens away from equilibrium can safelly be ignored, but think it no
longer adequate to speak in vague terms of bounded rationality and
The committee members were selected for their expertise in molecular dynamics simulations, as well as their experience in the subject areas represented in the 81 proposals that were considered by the committee. They comprised a cross section of the biomolecular dynamics field in academia, industry and government including an array of both senior and junior investigators. The committee was assisted by two external reviewers,1 who

We notion of argue that in domains can be where it a strong can be Mann and Moore , on the other hand, while assembling texts dynamically to suit their audience, do so by "over-generating" the set of facts that will be related, and then passing them all through a special filter, leaving out those that are judged to be already known to the audience and letting through those that are new. McKeown uses a similar technique -- her generator, like Mann and Moore's, must examine every potentially mentionable object in the domain data base and make...
We propose a parser for constraintlogic grammars implementing HPSG that combines the advantages of dynamic bottom-up and advanced topdown control. The parser allows the user to apply magic compilation to specific constraints in a grammar which as a result can be processed dynamically in a bottom-up and goal-directed fashion. State of the art top-down processing techniques are used to deal with the remaining constraints. We discuss various aspects concerning the implementation of the parser as part of a grammar development system. ...

This book presents some of the main ideas of game theory. It is designed to serve as a textbook for a one-semester
graduate course consisting of about 28 meetings each of 90 minutes.
The topics that we cover are those that we personally would include in such a one-semester course. We do not
pretend to provide a complete reference book on game theory and do not necessarily regard the topics that we
exclude as unimportant. Our selection inevitably reflects our own preferences and interests.
Engineering technology or mechanical engineering industry is the application of physical principles to create all kinds of machinery and equipment or other useful objects. Mechanical application of thermodynamic principles, the law of conservation of mass and energy to analyze static and dynamic physical systems, for design work in areas such as automotive, aircraft and the other vehicles, heating systems and cooling, household appliances, machinery and production equipment, weapons ...

Computed tomography (CT) is the mainstay of
cancer imaging outside of the central nervous
system. Advances in multidetector CT (MDCT)
technology have had a profound impact on its diagnostic
capabilities. Such techniques as multiphase, single breath-hold
imaging, CT angiography (CTA), volume rendering and
virtual colonography owe their success to the development of
multidetector arrays with continuously moving gantries.
Thus, after buying into winning funds,
investors unwittingly benefit from momentum returns on winning stocks. To
test this reasoning, Sapp and Tiwari calculate abnormal performance following
money f lows with and without accounting for the momentum factor, and find
that inclusion of the momentum factor in the performance evaluation proce-
dure eliminates outperformance of high f low funds. In addition, they show that
investors are not deliberate in seeking to benefit from stock-level momentum:
More popular funds do not have higher exposure to themomentumfactor at the
time they are selected.
Characterization and elucidation of the size-dependent evolution of the physical
and chemical properties of finite materials aggregates, having discrete
quantized energy level spectra, specific structural and morphological motifs
and exhibiting unique dynamical characteristics, are among the outstanding
challenges of modern materials science.
This special volume is published to mark the Centenary of the founding of the Faraday Society in
1903. It consists of 23 papers re-printed from Faraday journals-the Transactions, General
Discussions and Symposia-that have been published over the past 100 years. Each article has been
selected by an expert in one of the many scientific fields, bounded by chemistry, physics and biology,
which the Faraday Society and its successor the RSC Faraday Division seek to promote. Each paper is
To track the dynamic of continuity and change since 1960, it’s conventional
to start by looking at the film industry. As usually recounted, the indus-
try’s fortunes over the period display a darkness-to-dawn arc that might
satisfy a scriptwriter of epic inclinations. We now have several nuanced ver-
sions of this story, so I’ll merely point out some major turning points.

Progress in collaborative networks continues showing a growing number of
manifestations including virtual organizations, virtual enterprises, dynamic supply
chains, professional virtual communities, collaborative virtual laboratories, etc. with a
wide spectrum of application domains. The realization that all these collaborative forms
represent variations of a more general paradigm has lead to their consolidation into
Collaborative Networks (CN) as anew scientific discipline.

We develop and implement a framework in which prior views and empirical evidence
about pricing models and managerial skill can be incorporated formally into the invest-
ment decision. Our framework relies on a set of passive indexes or \assets," consisting of
nonbenchmark assets as well as the benchmark assets prescribed by a pricing model. A
common interpretation of alpha, the intercept in a regression of the fund's excess return on
the benchmarks, is that it represents the skill of the fund's manager in selecting mispriced
Why is benchmarking SIEM important? According to the National Institute of Standards (NIST),
SIEM software is a relatively new type of centralized logging software compared to syslog. Our
SANS Log Management Survey1
shows 51 percent of respondents ranked collecting logs as their
most critical challenge – and collecting logs is a basic feature a SIEM system can provide. Further,
a recent NetworkWorld article2
explains how different SIEM products typically integrate well with
selected logging tools, but not with all tools.
