  • This is the smallest unit of the machine and complete, its characteristics can not be separated out and meet all technical requirements. (For example, gears, shafts bike). Can put all the machine parts into two groups: - Detailed machine for general use (for example, bolts, gears; axis) is the machine parts used in many different machines. Details specific use machines have been used only in a certain number. (eg, crankshaft, valves, cam ...)

  • This handbook emphasizes the use of synthetic membranes for separations involving industrial or municipal process streams. Little will be said concerning the use of membranes in medical applications as in artificial kidneys or for controlled drug release. Most of the membrane processes are pressure driven. The notable exception to this is electrodialysis (ED) by which ions are separated under the influence of an electric field. In addition, the chapter on coupled transport covers processes which are driven under the influence of a concentration gradient....

  • Mass transfer in the multiphase multicomponent systems represents one of the most important problems to be solved in chemical technology, both in theoretical as well as practical point of view. In libraries all over the world, many books and articles can be found related to the mass transfer. Practically, all textbooks devoted to the separation processes or reaction engineering contain chapters describing the basic principles of the mass (and heat) transfer.

  • Distillation is probably one of the oldest systematic processes in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering which goes back to the first century AD. The initial concepts were applied in the production of distilled water. Distillation was a single step batch process at the beginning. However, fractional distillation as is used today was developed more than 10 centuries later.

  • The aim of Caffeine and chlorogenic acid separation from raw coffee beans using supercritical CO2 in water was to develop new process for extracting and separating hydrophilic and hydrophobic compounds from coffee beans using supercritical CO in water. In this work, experiments and simulation of the process has been conducted. Chlorogenic acid and caffeine from coffee beans were used as model compounds of hydrophilic and hydrophobic compounds, respectively.

  • A new approach to structure-driven generation is I)resented that is based on a separate semantics as input structure. For the first time, a GPSGbased formalism is complemented with a system of pattern-action rules that relate the parts of a semantics to appropriate syntactic rules. This way a front end generator can be adapted to some application system (such as a machine translation system) more easily than would be possible with many previous generators based on modern grammar formalisms.

  • We present a discriminative structureprediction model for the letter-to-phoneme task, a crucial step in text-to-speech processing. Our method encompasses three tasks that have been previously handled separately: input segmentation, phoneme prediction, and sequence modeling. The key idea is online discriminative training, which updates parameters according to a comparison of the current system output to the desired output, allowing us to train all of our components together.

  • While speech recognition systems have come a long way in the last thirty years, there is still room for improvement. Although readily available, these systems are sometimes inaccurate and insufficient. The research presented here outlines a technique called Distributed Listening which demonstrates noticeable improvements to existing speech recognition methods. The Distributed Listening architecture introduces the idea of multiple, parallel, yet physically separate automatic speech recognizers called listeners. Distributed Listening also uses a piece of middleware called an interpreter.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present LX-Suite, a set of tools for the shallow processing of Portuguese, developed under the TagShare1 project by the NLX Group.2 The tools included in this suite are a sentence chunker; a tokenizer; a POS tagger; a nominal featurizer; a nominal lemmatizer; and a verbal featurizer and lemmatizer. These tools were implemented as autonomous modules. This option allows to easily replace any of the modules by an updated version or even by a third-party tool. It also allows to use any of these tools separately, outside the pipeline of the suite. ...
