The Data-over-Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS)is an international standard developed by CableLabs, a non-profit research and development consortium for cable-related technologies.
DOCSIS specifies the OSI Layer 1 and Layer 2 requirements:
Physical layer-For data signals that the cable operator can use, DOCSIS specifies the channel widths (bandwidths of each channel) as 200 kHz, 400 kHz, 800 kHz, 1.6 MHz, 3.2 MHz, and 6.4 MHz. DOCSIS also specifies modulation techniques (the way to use the RF signal to convey digital data).

Short Messaging Service (SMS) is popularly used to provide information access to people on the move. This has resulted in the growth of SMS based Question Answering (QA) services. However automatically handling SMS questions poses signiﬁcant challenges due to the inherent noise in SMS questions. In this work we present an automatic FAQ-based question answering system for SMS users. We handle the noise in a SMS query by formulating the query similarity over FAQ questions as a combinatorial search problem.
We present a web service for natural language parsing, prediction, generation, and translation using grammars in Portable Grammar Format (PGF), the target format of the Grammatical Framework (GF) grammar compiler. General Packet Radio Service (GPRS)
Packet data transmission has already been standardized in GSM phase 2, offering access to the Packet Switched Public Data Network (PSPDN); see Sections 9.5.3 and 9.6.2. However, on the air interface such access occupies a complete circuit switched traf®c channel for the entire call period. In case of bursty traf®c (e.g. Internet traf®c), such access leads to a highly inef®cient resource utilization. It is obvious that in this case, packet switched bearer services result in a much better utilization of the traf®c channels.
