The possible impact of nanomaterials on future products and services is enormous.
This has led to a tremendous expansion in research and development efforts related
to nanoscale materials and devices. It has also raised new questions as to how these
products will influence the environment, human health, business, education, and
other areas of society. As with any emerging field, a vast amount of disconnected
information is emerging, often spread across multiple disciplines.
This report provides a long-term assessment of and outlook for nuclear physics. The first
phase of the report articulates the scientific rationale and objectives of the field, while the second
phase provides a global context for the field and its long-term priorities and proposes a
framework for progress through 2020 and beyond. The full statement of task for the committee is
in Appendix A.

Health-promoting activities usually contribute to the
prevention of a variety of diseases as well as enhancing a positive feeling of
health and vitality. They consist of nonmedical interventions, such as changes in
lifestyle, nutrition, and the environment. Such activities may require structural
improvements in society to enable the majority of people to take part in them.

This title explores the issue of innovation engineering, a feature that is essential to the continuation of growth and development in the commercial world. Discussion is divided into three parts: Part I covers the historical basis of innovation, noting that diversity rests upon a duality between concepts in theory and applications put into practice, as well as discussing how innovation has resulted from the interaction of numerous factors, be they societal, human, managerial, organization or technological.
Admissions to registered nurse (RN) programs rose steadily in Canada over the last decade from
8,947 in 1999 to 14,010 in 2008-2009. This significant growth represents a multifaceted response
to a strong societal demand for more nursing graduates, including government investment in
additional seats, the opening of new nursing schools, and the introduction of new program
models. The demand for nurses and the baccalaureate entry requirement instituted in all
provinces except Quebec also stimulated applicant interest and an upgrade in the quality of
applicants to nursing programs. ...
