  • Storage tanks have been widely used in many industrial particularly in the oil refinery and petrochemical industry which are to store a multitude of different product with crude oil as one if it. There are different types of tank such as fixed roof tank, open roof tank, floating roof tank etc. Floating roof tank is which the roof floats directly on top of the product, with no vapour space and eliminating the possibility of flammable atmosphere.

  • Remediation of hazardous wastes present in the subsurface has evolved with time and has been influenced by various factors over the years. During the early years, direction and efforts were mostly influenced by the regulations in place and the need for compliance and protection of human health and environment. The contaminants primarily focused upon during this time were the petroleum-related contaminants stemming from leaking underground storage tanks (USTs

  • It is hard to imagine that less than fifteen years ago building and fire codes specific to the construction of a wafer fabrication facility were just in the process of being developed. Detection and evaluation of leaking underground storage tanks and epidemiological health studies aimed at qualifying and quantifying our “cleanroom” image were in their infancy stages and Cal- OSHA had just completed the first in-depth study of the industry’s chemical processes and associated industrial hygiene exposures....

  • Remedial strategies for petroleum UST sites that include a combination of active source zone treatment with enhanced natural attenuation outside the contaminant plume core may consider chemical oxidation technologies. Many chemical oxidation techniques also provide residual dissolved oxygen that is used by aerobic microorganisms to biodegrade contaminants. In addition, these technologies may also oxidize reduced electron acceptors (e.g., nitrogen to nitrate, sulfides to sulfate), which are then used by anaerobic microorganisms to biodegrade contaminants.

The interviews had two parts, one unstructured and one structured. In the unstructured portion of the interview, we asked participants to talk aloud about what they were reading or looking at and to talk simultaneously about their reactions to each part of the notice.

Rather, as implementation of the audit proceeds, unanticipated circumstances will often require that the plan be modified. Such changes should be documented, along with the reasons for them. If any changes alter significantly the methodology of the audit or the time or other resources required to carry it out, those changes should be reviewed and approved by the official, if any, who approved the original plan.

There was positive correlation between total phenolic content and colour index of sugarcane syrup. The effect of storage time and pH on the colour index of clarified syrup was also was determined. The result showed that the colour development was significant during storage, especially, when the acidity of clarified syrup is high (low pH).

  • In China, either small farmers bring their cows to the station or the cows are housed near the milking facility – to allow cows managed by households to be milked by machine and have the milk go directly to a refrigerated bulk tank. There are also a growing number of medium-sized specialized household farms with 200-10004 cows. These are often private farmers within reasonable transportation distances from major consuming areas. These farmers also have mechanized milking, cold storage, and highly productive animals (5000-7000 litres/head/year).
