  • The purpose of this paper is to help customer survey process stakeholders understand some of the inherent tradeoffs of alternative survey methods. The scope addresses factors including size of the customer population, strengths and weaknesses of alternate methods, survey response rates and resource constraints. When taken with the information needs of the organization, these factors converge to suggest appropriate survey methods and designs that will facilitate an effective customer satisfaction measurement (CSM) process. ...

  • Robotics and computer vision are interdisciplinary subjects at the intersection of engineering and computer science. By their nature, they deal with both computers and the physical world. Although the former are in the latter, the workings of computers are best described in the black-and-white vocabulary of discrete mathematics, which is foreign to most classical models of reality, quantum physics notwithstanding. This class surveys some of the key tools of applied math to be used at the interface of continuous and discrete. It is not on robotics or computer vision.

  • In recent years the study of numerical methods for solving ordinary differential equations has seen many new developments. This second edition of the author's pioneering text is fully revised and updated to acknowledge many of these developments. It includes a complete treatment of linear multistep methods whilst maintaining its unique and comprehensive emphasis on Runge-Kutta methods and general linear methods. Although the specialist topics are taken to an advanced level, the entry point to the volume as a whole is not especially demanding.

  • Surveys can be divided into two broad categories: the questionnaire and the interview. Questionnaires are usually paper-and-pencil instruments that the respondent completes. Interviews are completed by the interviewer based on the respondent says. Sometimes, it's hard to tell the difference between a questionnaire and an interview. For instance, some people think that questionnaires always ask short closed-ended questions while interviews always ask broad open-ended ones.

  • The goal of this book is to expose the reader to modern computational tools for solving differential equation models that arise in chemical engineering, e.g., diffusion-reaction, mass-heat transfer, and fluid flow. The emphasis is placed on the understanding and proper use of software packages. In each chapter we outline numerical techniques that either illustrate a computational property of interest or are the underlying methods of a computer package. At the close of each chapter a survey of computer packages is accompanied by examples of their use....

  • This work is intended to survey the basic theory that underlies the multitude of parameter-rich models that dominate the hydrological literature today. It is concerned with the application of the equation of continuity (which is the fundamental theorem of hydrology) in its complete form combined with a simplified representation of the principle of conservation of momentum. Since the equation of continuity can be expressed in linear form by a suitable choice of state variables and is also parameterfree, it can be readily formulated at all scales of interest.

The rst three or four chapters can stand alone as a one semester course in abstract algebra. However, they are structured to provide the foundation for the program linear algebra. Chapter 2 is the most di cult part of the book for group written in additive notation and multiplication, and the concept of coset is confusing at rst. The object of the research was to evaluate time management skill of the 3rd year students of FFL-HUT to see if it is good or not, because they have been facing a large amount of time-consuming assignments. Data were gathered using two methods: content analysis on requirements of ESP subjects, on relevant materials, and questionnaire survey on selected 3rd year students of FFL-HUT....

  • Leonard and Durrant-Whyte [1991] summarized the general problem of mobile robot navigation by three questions: “Where am I?,” “Where am I going?,” and “How should I get there?.” This report surveys the state-of-the-art in sensors, systems, methods, and technologies that aim at answering the first question, that is: robot positioning in its environment. Perhaps the most important result from surveying the vast body of literature on mobile robot positioning is that to date there is no truly elegant solution for the problem.
