  • Synthesis has a central role in the development of Science especially in Chemistry. The strategies adopted in synthesis of molecules and materials have undergone considerable changes in recent times and it was felt that it may be necessary to assess and assimilate information on this topic in a single place. Though, no originality is claimed to the contents on this topic, the very fact that the available information on this topic is available in one place itself is considered to be a major step forward.

  • The use of scientific techniques in materials conservation has notably expanded in recent decades. There is much interest in identifying the materials used in culturally important objects. Of great importance is a clear understanding of the state and mechanisms of degradation of objects susceptible to deterioration with time and exposure to environmental factors. An understanding of the state of materials at a molecular level can provide valuable information for conservators, enabling them to decide on a conservation procedure....

  • An extensive body of research suggests that psychological assets do confer resilience and protection and do so at both an individual and an ecological level (Bartley 2006; Fagg et al 2006; Sacker and Schoon 2007). The optimism, self esteem, self efficacy and interest in others that contribute to a child’s success at school are also characteristics of resilient neighbourhoods and communities, where norms of trust, tolerance, support, participation and reciprocity may provide some protection from the effects of deprivation.

  • These four categories really depend in the main on the idea that in some circumstances, God and religion justify war. This is the ‘just war’ doctrine. The notion of ‘just war’ is based on the violence-of-God tradition, attempting to solidify the relationship between God and war. However, any arguments regarding divine war are built upon understandings of divine justice. Analyzing the concept of ‘just war’, Richard Kirby contends that ‘it is not that the variable attributes of the war which are problematic; it’s the elasticity of the concept of justice’.

  • Several in vitro studies have shown that polyphenols are the major contributors with respect to the total antioxidant activity of the majority of fruits and vegetables. Over 8.000 polyphenolic molecules have been identified and can be classified into flavonoids and non- flavonoid phenolics. Certain authors consider (poly)phenols to be all secondary phytochemicals that have at least two phenol subunits.

  • The most popular of the rigid reinforcements for printed wiring boards is woven E-glass (electrical-grade glass) fabric. These fabrics are constructed to meet weight, thickness, strength, and cost objectives. The woven fabric is used in many industries as reinforcements for thermoplastic and thermosetting plastic parts. Thermosetting laminates are particularly enhanced by the properties of the glass fabric.

  • The uterosacral ligaments arise from the sacral vertebrate S2,3,4 and attach to the cervical ring posteriorly. It is an effective insertion point of the downward muscle force, the longitudinal muscle of the anus (LMA). The rectovaginal fascia extends as a sheet between the lateral rectal pillars, from the perineal body below to the levator plate above. It is attached to the uterosacral ligaments (USL) and the fascia surrounding the cervix. The perineal body lies between the distal third of the posterior vaginal wall and the anus below the pelvic floor. It is 3-4 cm long.

  • Synthetic polymers fulfill many functions in biotechnology and medicine. In cell culture technology and tissue engineering they provide the surfaces to which cells may attach. Cross-linked polymer networks are used for drug delivery and cell encapsulation. Polymer-based porous membranes can be used to shield implanted cells from the immune system of the host, while allowing for the exchange of nutrients and metabolic waste products thus keeping the cells alive and functioning.

Scripts that lent themselves to mass marketing had a better chance of being acquired, and screenwriters were encouraged to incorporate special effects. Unlike studio-era productions, the megapicture could lead a robust afterlife on a soundtrack album, on cable channels, and on videocassette.
