The term "peer-to-peer" has come to be applied to networks that expect end users to contribute their
own files, computing time, or other resources to some shared project. Even more interesting than the
systems' technical underpinnings are their socially disruptive potential: in various ways they return
content, choice, and control to ordinary users.
In responding to the guidelines established by the session chairman of this panel, three of the five topics he set forth will be discussed. These include aggregate functions and quantity questions, querying semantically complex fields, and multi-file queries. As we will make clear in the sequel, the transformational apparatus utilized in the TQA Question Answering System provides a principled basis for handling these and many other problems i n natural language access to databases.
Patent translation is a complex problem due to the highly specialized technical vocabulary and the peculiar textual structure of patent documents. In this paper we analyze patents along the orthogonal dimensions of topic and textual structure. We view different patent classes and different patent text sections such as title, abstract, and claims, as separate translation tasks, and investigate the influence of such tasks on machine translation performance.

Oil and gas are the most important non-renewable sources of energy. Exploring, producing and managing these resources in compliance with HSE standards are challenging tasks. New technologies, workflows and procedures have to be implemented. This book deals with some of these themes and describes some of the advanced technologies related to the oil and gas industry from HSE to field management issues. Some new technologies for geo-modeling, transient well testing and digital rock physics are also introduced. There are many more technical topics to be addressed in future books.

Steam - The Energy Fluid
It is useful to introduce the topic of steam by considering its many uses and benefits, before entering an overview of the steam plant or any technical explanations. Steam has come a long way from its traditional associations with locomotives and the Industrial Revolution. Steam today is an integral and essential part of modern technology. Without it, our food, textile, chemical, medical, power, heating and transport industries could not exist or perform as they do.
Sound emission studies have been launched in the early 1950s. The technology
before the mid-1960s, mainly in electronics engineering and materials, enabling
rapid development of the method. Currently technical pronounced
applied to a number of research areas, both in civil and industrial use.
Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) was developed during the same period as PEM, in the
early 1990’s. PGP was originally designed for securing Internet mail. PGP shares
most technical features, such as digital signatures and public-key based encryption,
with PEM. Like PEMit uses a proprietary, non-MIME-compatible, message format
. However, later MIME-compatible variations have evolved . PGP’s main
difference from other proposals is its key management system. It does not use
X.509 Certificates, but rather a proprietary syntax.
Bladder, uterine, and rectal prolapse are common sequelae of childbirth.
Sometimes bulging is obvious on initial inspection, but other times it may
only be evident when the patient bears down as if she were attempting to void
and then defecate. The examiner should be appropriately positioned before
undertaking this evaluation, because some women will lose urine with this
maneuver. For many women with prolapse, diagnosis is only possible after a
more detailed gynecologic examination (see Chapters 10 and 14)....
The Subcommittee on Body Composition, Nutrition, and Health of Military Women (BCNH subcommittee)
was established in 1995 through a grant administered by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel
Command as part of the Defense Women's Health Research Program.

Nowadays, Software Product Line (SPL) is considered to be one of the most popular
technical paradigms and emerging methodologies in developing software products.
The SPL consists of two main processes: the domain-engineering process and the
application-engineering process. Collecting software assets regarding a specific
business area falls within the domain-engineering process

Why is it important to study Hydrodynamics? The answer may be strictly technical,
but it may also involve some kind of human feeling about our environment and our
(eventual) limitations to deal with its fluidic constituents.
As teachers, when talking to our students about the importance of quantifying fluids,
we (authors) go to the blackboard and draw, in blue color, a small circumference in the
center of the board, and add the obvious name 'Earth'.
Beginning iPad Application Development is written to help jumpstart beginning iPad developers. It covers the various topics in such a manner that you will progressively learn without being overwhelmed by the details. It adopts the philosophy that the best way to learn is by doing, hence the numerous Try It Out sections in all the chapters, which first show you how to build something and then explain how things work.
