Problem statement: Dilute sulphuric acid and enzymatic hydrolysis methods were used for sugar extraction. Xylose and glucose sugars were obtained from corn cobs. Approach: Acid hydrolysis of corn cobs gave higher amount of sugars than enzymatic hydrolysis. Results: The results showed that optimal temperature and time for sugar fermentation were approximately 25°C and 50 h by two yeast strains (S. cerevisiae and P. Stipitis) respectively.
The discovery of superconductivity in copper oxide perovskite (1) has opened a
new era of research in superconducting materials. This class of materials not only
show high-temperature superconductivity but also show properties that are different
from classical superconductors. This offers a great challenge to understanding
the basic phenomenon that causes superconductivity in these materials and to developing
the appropriate preparation methods so that these can be exploited for a
wide range of applications.

Study of the effect of Nd substitution for La on magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of polycrystalline perovskites (La1-xNdx)0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (x = 0.0, 0.2 , 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 ) is presented. In this report, the authors used the displacement method to study the mechanical behavior (stress, strain…) of an infinite hollow cylinder made of composite material under unsteady, axisymmetric plane temperature field. In the numerical calculations, we mainly studied the influence of time and volume ratio of the particle on the displacement and thermoelastic stress of a cylinder made of Titanium /PVC composite.
