Every day we face situations where the result is uncertain, and, perhaps without realizing it, we guess about the likelihood of one outcome or another. Fortunately, mastering the concepts of probability can cast new light on situations where randomness and chance appear to rule. In this fully revised second edition of Understanding Probability, the reader can learn about the world of probability in an appealing way.
Whenever new communications and media platforms have been introduced, their innovation and application was met with scepticism, fear or outright banning by the ruling parties and authorities who feared the unknown medium, and its capacity to oust them from power. Therefore, new (mass) media historically face suspicion, and are liable to excessive regulation as they spark fear of potential detrimental effects on society, security and political power structures.
This paper focuses on generating referring expressions capable of serving multiple communicative goals. The components of a referring expression are divided into a referring part and a non-referring part. Two rules for the content determination and construction of the non-referring part are given, which are realised in an embedding algorithm.

public service broadcasters be expected to provide? And how should this be funded?
The report drew 2,431 comments from both groups and individuals and led to the
development of a new online strategy, titled “Strengthening our National Broadcasters”
(Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy 2009).
