.Undergraduate Topics in Computer Science
.Undergraduate Topics in Computer Science (UTiCS) delivers high-quality instructional content for undergraduates studying in all areas of computing and information science. From core foundational and theoretical material to final-year topics and applications, UTiCS books take a fresh, concise, and modern approach and are ideal for self-study or for a one- or two-semester course. The texts are all authored by established experts in their fields, reviewed by an international advisory board, and contain numerous examples and problems.
We analyze estimation methods for DataOriented Parsing, as well as the theoretical criteria used to evaluate them. We show that all current estimation methods are inconsistent in the “weight-distribution test”, and argue that these results force us to rethink both the methods proposed and the criteria used.
Research objectives: On the basis of theoretical studies and practical management of extracurricular educational activities, proposing measures to manage extracurricular educational activities oriented socialization at high schools in o Chi Minh City; researching establishments of the theory about managing the extracurricular educational activities oriented socialization at high schools.
Purpose: To clarify the theoretical and practical foundations of antimonopoly in the socialist oriented market economy. Assess the actual situation of antimonopoly in our country. Then propose basic solutions for antimonopoly in the socialist oriented market economy of our country in the coming time.
The thesis topic "Impact of the development of socialist-oriented market economy on protecting the sovereignty and security of national borders in the Northern border provinces" is an independent research project, containing the dedication of the author, based on applying the system of theoretical perspectives of Marxism - Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s ideology; guidelines and policies of the Party; directives and leadership resolutions of the Party
Along which basic lines could an organization which plans to invest in knowledge
management proceed? What general initiatives can be suggested for knowledge management?
First, an array of knowledge management goals and strategies is presented taken from
theoretical and empirical studies which are then related to each other in the light of what we
call a strategic intervention into an organization’s way of handling knowledge. We then make
the case for the integration of process orientation into a comprehensive multi-dimensional
framework for knowledge management strategies.

This book is based on a series of papers and other material that the author (occasionally
in co-authorship with others – see Acknowledgements) has written
during the last decade or more. Several of these papers were from the very
outset intended to be integrated in this book, but no chapter is identical to any
previously published material. Other chapters are new and exclusive to this
Organization scholars have long acknowledged that control processes
are integral to the way in which organizations function. While control
theory research spans many decades and draws on several rich traditions,
theoretical limitations have kept it from generating consistent and interpretable
empirical findings and from reaching consensus concerning the
nature of key relationships.
Consequently, the first section of this paper will focus on the concept of
conflict and conflict cycles. After presenting a working definition of
conflict, a theoretical model of the conflict lifecycle will be provided.
This section also presents an extended model of the conflict lifecycle
which includes both the conflict intensity level and measures to prevent,
limit and resolve the conflict.
Real estate markets globally have been severely affected by ongoing
unprecedented economic turmoil, particularly in Europe and the United
States. This is expected to continue. The Australian real estate market
has, in this time, emerged as a destination of choice for global real estate
investors seeking a safe haven in a well-regulated and highly transparent
growth-oriented market for doing business.
Abnormality means behavior, thinking processes, or feelings deemed undesirable
and therefore subject to control or change. Differing points of view about theoretical
orientation, tolerance for deviance, where to draw the line between normal and
abnormal, and the use of labeling lead to differences in the criteria used for
definitions. Important criteria include subjective discomfort, disability or inefficiency,
and deviance, especially bizarre or reality-distorting deviance.
One of the benefits of applying to clinical and counseling psychology programs is that
you earn the right to commiserate about it afterwards. It was a night of anecdotes
and complaints (while doing laundry) that led us to review our travails and compare
notes on the difficulties we each experienced during the admission process. We emerged
from three diverse backgrounds: one of us (T. J. M.) graduated from a large state university,
took time off, and then entered a doctoral program; one of us (M. A. S.
Technology Education has gone through a lot of changes in the past decades. It has
developed from a craft oriented school subject to a learning area in which the
meaning of technology as an important part of our contemporary culture is
explored, both by the learning of theoretical concepts and through practical
activities. This development has been accompanied by educational research. The
output of research studies is published mostly as articles in scholarly Technology
Education and Science Education journals. There is a need, however, for more than
Spices are high value, export-oriented crops used extensively in food and beverage flavourings, medicines, cosmetics and perfumes. Interest is growing however in the theoretical and practical aspects of the biosynthetic mechanisms of active components in spices as well as the relationship between the biological activity and chemical structure of these secondary metabolites. A wide variety of phenolic substances and amides derived from spices have been found to possess potent chemopreventive, anti-mutagenic, anti-oxidant and anti-carcinogenic properties....
This is a thorough revision of the definitive, classic text for any level course on refrigeration, refrigeration and air conditioning, and environmental control in buildings. It is an equipment-oriented textbook that applies theoretical results of engineering theories to refrigeration and air conditioning engineering problems. This enables the student to understand both common and uncommon problems in designing, selecting and applying air conditioning and refrigeration components and systems.
A comprehensive introduction to the most popular class of neural network, the multilayer perceptron, showing how it can be used for system identification and control. The book provides readers with a sufficient theoretical background to understand the characteristics of different methods, and to be aware of the pit-falls so as to make the correct decisions in all situations. This is a very application-oriented text that gives detailed and pragmatic recommendations to guide users through the plethora of methods suggested in the literature.
The book is intended to be a collection of contributions providing a bird’s eye view of some
relevant multidisciplinary applications of data acquisition. While assuming that the reader is
familiar with the basics of sampling theory and analog-to-digital conversion, the attention is
focused on applied research and industrial applications of data acquisition. Even in the few
cases when theoretical issues are investigated, the goal is making the theory comprehensible
to a wide, application-oriented, audience....
dipole antenna is a radio antenna that can be made of a simple wire, with a center-fed
driven element. It consists of two metal conductors of rod or wire, oriented parallel and
collinear with each other (in line with each other), with a small space between them. The
radio frequency voltage is applied to the antenna at the center, between the two
conductors. These antennas are the simplest practical antennas from a theoretical point of
