The ACR considers adherence to these guidelines and recommendations to be voluntary, with the ultimate determination regarding their application to be made by the physician in light of each patient’s individual circumstances. Guidelines and recommendations are intended to promote beneficial or desirable outcomes but cannot guarantee any specific outcome.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among men and women in
the United States with 170,000 deaths per year. This exceeds the sum of the
next three leading causes of death due to cancer: breast, colon, and prostate.
There are over 1 million deaths worldwide due to lung cancer, making it truly
an epidemic. Fewer than 15% achieve a 5-yr survival. The vast majority (85%)
present with advanced disease, although stage I patients may have a 5-yr
survival approaching 70% (1).
There is no doubt that the introduction and evolution
of regenerative and implant therapies affords
clinicians the opportunity to provide patients with
previously undreamt-of treatment outcomes. However,
such therapeutic approaches must not be visualized
as an end to themselves.
The goals of conscientious and comprehensive
therapy remain the maximization of patient
comfort, function, and esthetics in both the short
and long terms.
There are only a couple of educational institutions including universities that
look into media education, and offer projects and conferences. According to Kumar,
media education should lead to democratic communication. He defines media
education as a teaching method that uses formal, non-formal, and informal approaches
to impart a critical understanding of various media in order to lead to greater
responsibility, greater participation in the production of media as well as to a greater
interest in the sales and reception of media.
Baumgarten expresses that aesthetics (beauty) is a harmony of expression, structure and content.
Probably a statement which is identical to what an artist expresses when saying that a work must have a
clear leading feature: a main idea (theme), a structure (structural principles) and a content (which
provide a work’s richness and evidences power and life) [5, p.74]. Our methodical approach to
formgiving rooted in aesthetics is based on this leading feature, although the contents of the three
components are only partially resolved in relation to the design of artefacts.
In this paper, participants in the Translational Medicine task force of the World
Wide Web Consortium’s Health Care and Life Sciences Interest Group (W3C
HCLSIG) present the Translational Medicine Ontology (TMO) and the Translational
Medicine Knowledge Base (TMKB). The TMKB consists of the TMO, mappings to
other terminologies and ontologies, and data in RDF format spanning discovery
research and drug development, which are of therapeutic relevance to clinical research
and clinical practice.
(BQ) Part 2 book "Pocket protocols for ultrasound" presents the following contents: Arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death, cardiovacular disease in special populations, specialized testing and therapeutics. Invite you to consult.
The advantages and limitations of conventional structural MRI for the diagnosis and
monitoring of MS are discussed by Andreadou (Chapter 15). There is often a disparity
between the level of structural abnormality seen on MRI and level of cognitive
difficulties expressed by the patient with MS. Clinical interview and
neuropsychological assessment are vitally impairment, not only from an initial
diagnostic perspective but also in terms of longer term planning and care.
Infectious diseases continue to represent a major diagnostic and therapeutic challenge in the
critical care unit. Infectious diseases maintain their preeminence in the critical care unit setting
because of their frequency and importance in the critical unit patient population.
Since the first edition of Infectious Diseases in Critical Care Medicine, there have been newly
described infectious diseases to be considered in differential diagnosis, and new antimicrobial
agents have been added to the therapeutic armamentarium.
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines telemarketing
as the marketing of goods or services by telephone. It’s a word
that was added to the dictionary back in 1980, when it became
obvious that the telephone was changing the way companies
In general, people are busy. They don’t want to be both-
ered by others trying to sell them products or services that
aren’t needed. A successful telemarketer can quickly capture
the attention of the person he or she is calling and prove to that
person that what you’re offering could be beneficial.
In this review, will be summarize the principle of these new methodologies and the impact
of omics-techniques, mainly genomic-transcriptomics (analysis of single nucleotide
polymorphisms or gene-expression) and proteomic (identification and quantification of
proteins), in the knowledge of different aspects of allergy diseases (diagnosis, screening,
monitoring of treatment, protective or risk biomarkers and drug development) and the
advance to define the personalized and molecular medicine in this complex kind of diseases....
In 1989, Hodge et al. published two papers in the Journal of Urology (Hodge et al., 1989a
and 1989b). The first paper described directed transrectal prostate biopsies of palpable
abnormalities, 90% of which had corresponding hypoechoic lesions on ultrasound (Hodge
1989a). Additional biopsies were also taken of isoechoic areas of the peripheral and
central zones. These biopsies were not systematic and they were found to be positive in
66% of cases.
The second article was a landmark paper which marked the start of the modern era of
prostate needle biopsy (Hodge et al., 1989b).
