  • The paper presents the first results of study on isolation of curcumin from curcuma longa L. by ultrasonic extraction. The results show that by using ultrasonic technique the extraction efficiency in comparison with the solid-liquid extraction with stirring and thermal treatment will be increased and in the other hand the extraction time will be reduced nearly 90%. In addition, ultrasonic extraction results in reducing cost and decomposed curcumin significantly due to the thermal treatment.
