Because learning only one programming language makes for more
limited programmers in my experience. It is much better to understand
the underlying concepts that apply in every language and thus
become a "programmer" who can learn and use any language
than to become a "Python Programmer" who is afraid to use
other languages because it would take too long to learn them.
This Style Guide is intended primarily for English-language authors and translators,
both in-house and freelance, working for the European Commission. But now that so
many texts in and around the EU institutions are drafted in English by native and nonnative
speakers alike, its rules, reminders and handy references aim to serve a wider

“Paraprofessionals often possess unique skills that help them know the students in a way
that helps students learn. These unique skills are often the result of paraprofessionals’
spending more time with the students, knowing them from the community, and
sometimes sharing the same culture and language.
Positive school environments were characterised by paraprofessionals working as a

personnel and parents, and feeling rewarded by their work with children.
Readers will find several papers that address high-level issues in the use of technology in education, for example architecture and design frameworks for building online education materials or tools. Several other chapters report novel approaches to intelligent tutors or adaptive systems in educational settings. A number of chapters consider many roles for social computing in education, from simple computer-mediated communication support to more extensive community-building frameworks and tools.
I sent the columnist/tutor an e-mail, starting off softly: “Enjoyed your column, blah blah,
impressed you also know so much about math, blah blah. And by the way, you might want to

Manual of Style, Strunk and White’s The Elements of Style, Garner’s Modern American Usage
and others all say there’s no such rule.”
The columnist wrote me back. Her response: “I could not disagree more.”

We discuss Feature Latent Semantic Analysis (FLSA), an extension to Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA). LSA is a statistical method that is ordinarily trained on words only; FLSA adds to LSA the richness of the many other linguistic features that a corpus may be labeled with. We applied FLSA to dialogue act classification with excellent results. We report results on three corpora: CallHome Spanish, MapTask, and our own corpus of tutoring dialogues.
Definitions of “program” may vary. Generally, a program constitutes some set of
activities with a defined objective, such as an employment training program, a tutoring
or mentoring program, a sports program, or a literacy development program for
youth. In some nonprofits, there may be one supervisor per program, while in others,
a supervisor will oversee more than one program.
If an organization has more than one group providing the same service, managers
can use a common measurement approach for both.
