[ Team LiB ] Using Contacts for Mail Merge Mail merge is possibly the most popular reason for accessing Outlook data from Word. Mail merge makes it easy to create address labels, personalized letters, and address books. By opening Word and using the Tools, Letters and Mailings, Mail Merge menu selection to begin the merge, you limit the number of contact fields available for use as merge fields to common mail fields. When you start the...

Many types of tool materials, ranging from high carbon steel to ceramics and diamonds, are used as cutting tools in today’s metalworking industry. It is important to be aware that differences do exist among tool materials, what these differences are, and the correct application for each type of material. The various tool manufacturers assign many names and numbers to their products. While many of these names and numbers may appear to be similar, the applications of these tool materials may be entirely different.
For example, a few years ago, I was the Development Tools Marketing Manager for a semiconductor manufacturer. I was speaking with the Software Development Tools Manager at our major account. My job was to help convince the customer
that they should be using our RISC processor in their laser printers. Since I owned the tool chain issues, I had to address his specific issues before we could convince him that we had the appropriate support for his design team.
This book is separated into three main parts: Part I, “Lighting Theory,”
Part II, “3ds max Lighting Tools,” and Part III, “Creating Lighting.” Part
I covers the fundamentals of what light is, how it acts and reacts in our
world, and what those reactions look like. Part II covers the virtual lighting
equipment available to achieve your 3ds max lighting goals. Part III
deals with how to use those tools to create the lighting we desire. Theory
is first in this book because it is fundamental to using the tools.
Above-the-line campaign: a marketing campaign using only advertising. Account: the term used to describe a client or job. In consultancies, “an account team” refers to the group of PR consultants servicing a particular client. Below-the-line campaign: a marketing communications campaign that does not use advertising. Instead it uses promotional tools such as public relations, direct marketing and sales promotion. In a time when digital electronics is becoming more complex and less accessible to
students and low-end project and product developers, microcontrollers have become
the tools of choice for learning about electronics and programming as well as providing
the capabilities needed to create sophisticated applications cheaply and easily. If
you were to look through any electronics magazine, you would discover that almost
every example application uses a microcontroller (often abbreviated to just MCU) to
provide a user interface, sequence operations, and respond to changing inputs.
Apple provides you with all the tools you need to create great Cocoa applications, for free. This set of tools, known
under the name Xcode, comes with Mac OS X, or you can download it from the developer section on Apple’s website.
Several good books on programming for the Mac exist, but they assume that you already have some programming
experience. This book doesn’t. It teaches you the basics of programming, in particular Objective-C programming, using
Xcode. After some 5 chapters, you will be able to create a basic program without a Graphical User Interface (GUI).
When folks ask me what I do for a professional career, I usually tell them, “I write books about
computers.” For those who are computer literate, the discussion usually continues this way:
Them: “What subjects have you written about?”
Me: “Mostly about using Microsoft Excel.”
Them: “Like using Excel to do what?”
Me: “Analyze data. In fact, I’m currently working on a book that will cover analyzing data
using the Excel what-if tools.
Metal cutting puts extreme demands on the tool and tool material through conditions of high forces, high contact pressures, high temperatures, and intense chemical attack by difficult to cut work materials. In addition, the tool geometry and cutting conditions in terms of sharp edges, cyclic engagement and presence of cutting fluid will add to the severity. Most often cutting tools are used close to their ultimate resistance against these loads, especially to the limiting thermal and mechanical stresses. ...

This is the second edition of a basic introduction to Moodle's features - and it's a big improvement over the first edition. Jason Cole and Helen Foster start off quite rightly by taking you on a tour of the user interface - what you see when you start using Moodle. That is - how to log in and edit your user profile; how to navigate through the sections of a course using the breadcrumb trail; and how to explore all the tools and support information buttons which surround the main working area on screen.
