• Limitations on “AS IS” sales of used cars: Low-income consumers need a reliable car for transportation. Unfortunately, consumers are often sold vehicles with known defects that are hidden from the purchaser. While most states have lemon laws that protect the purchaser of a new car, few states have effective used car warranty laws.
