Làm sao để biết bạn đang sở hữu bản Windows
XP nào? VLK, R3tail, VOL hay OEM?
Trước hết, bạn tìm file setupp.ini trong thư mục I386 trên CD Windows XP
của bạn, mở file đó bằng notepad và bạn sẽ thấy những dòng đại loại như
thế này:

Pid=55034000
Giá trị Pid là những gì chúng ta cần quan tâm. Bạn để ý giá trị của Pid có 8
ký tự. So sánh nhóm 5 ký tự đầu tiên và nhóm 3 ký tự sau cùng với bảng
dưới đây để biết CD Windows Xp của bạn thuộc bản nào!

Ví dụ tôi có file Setupp.ini có giá trị Pid= 55274 270 thì đó chính là bản
Windows XP Pro Volume. Rất đơn giản phải không?
