Digital output modules can be used to output digital signals from the control to the process. They convert the internal signal levels of the S7-300 into the external signal levels required for the process. They are suitable e.g., for connecting solenoid valves, contactors, small-power motors, lamps and motor starters.

CA 01 Digital modules - SM 322 digital output Digital modules - SM 322 digital output Overview Digital outputs For connecting solenoid valves, contactors, low-power motors, lamps and motor starters Application Digital output modules can be used to output digital signals from the control to the process. They convert the internal signal levels of the S7-300 into the external signal levels required for the process. They are suitable e.g., for connecting solenoid valves, contactors, small-power motors, lamps and motor starters. Design Digital output modules are characterized by the following features: Compact configuration: Green LEDs for indicating the signal statuses at the outputs Slots for the front connector, protected by a front cover Labeling area on the front cover. Easy installation: There are no slot rules. The output addresses are defined by the slots. When they are used in the ET 200M in combination with active bus modules, hot-swapping is possible. User-friendly wiring RC filter (for relay module 6ES7 322-1HF20): Relay module 6ES7 322-1HF20-0AA0 features a switchable RC attenuation network (300 Ω/0.1 µF) for reducing arcing across the contacts when switching large inductive loads (power factor = 0.4).The result is, for example: Increase in the life of the contacts from 100,000 to 200,000 switching operations for controlling a motor starter for a NEMA motor of frame size 5 Function Digital output modules convert the internal signal level of the PLC into the external signal levels required for the process.
