Green chemistry towards the synthesis of some 2-Pyrrolidinone derivatives

The three derivatives of 2-pyrrolidinone were synthesized based on a multi-component reaction, using an eco-friendly solvent, ethanol. Some of the advantages of a multi-component reaction are the simple way of conducting experiments, using low-cost and fairly common materials. Besides, the structure of these three compounds is explained based on spectral methods such as infrared (IR), mass spectrometry (MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
