
St ep V.Cre ating a Subscript ion
This section of t he article describes how t o creat e a subscript ion to the pu blication
you created wit h t he New Subscript ion Wizard.
1. I n SQL Server Managem ent Studio, right - click t he publicat ion you creat ed.
2. Click New Subscript ions.

4.On t he Publicat ion page, t he publication you creat ed is displayed and selected by
default. Click Next

5.On t he Distribut ion Agent Location page, select t he location at which t he
Distribut ion Agent s w ill run. I f there are less t han fift y Subscribers, w e recom m end
the default of running the Distribut ion Agent at t he Dist ribut or.
a. Select Run all agent s at t he Dist ribu tor ( push subscript ions)
b.click Next

6.On t he Subscribers page, select t he Subscriber in st ance t hat will receive t he
replicated dat a from t he Oracle Publisher. You m ust also specify whet her t he
Subscriber is another instance of SQL Server or a different t ype of database provider.
a. Click Add Subscriber.
b. Select Add SQL Server Subscriber.
c.Click Next

7.Specify t he connection inform at ion for t he SQL Server Subscriber.
a. I n the Connect t o Server dialog box, select t he instance of SQL Server t hat will be
the Subscriber.
b. Specify t he aut hent ication m ethod t hat is used t o connect t o the Subscriber.
c. Click Connect t o save the connection inform at ion.
Note: I n the configuration used for t his paper, t he Distribut or and Subscriber are on
the sam e instance of SQL Server. Therefore t he connection settings in t he following
illust ration are t he sam e as t hose shown earlier in t he paper.
