  • Abstract Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between advertisement terminology and consumer product knowledge in the attitudes toward advertisements and brands. Design/Methodology/Approach One hundred and twenty undergraduates participated in a 2 9 2 (terminologies are used versus terminologies are not used 9 high consumer product knowledge versus low consumer product knowledge) between-subjects design.

  • The current status of studies of online shopping attitudes and behavior is investigated through an analysis of 35 empirical articles found in nine primary Information Systems (IS) journals and three major IS conference proceedings. A taxonomy is developed based on our analysis. A conceptual model of online shopping is presented and discussed in light of existing empirical studies. Areas for further research are discussed.

  • The results indicate that both Taiwanese and Cambodian respondents perceive Japanese electronic products as the most favorable and high quality with high attitudes and intention to purchase. Taiwanese, Thai, and Chinese electronic products are perceived in a second, third, and fourth, respectively. Chinese electronic products are perceived as low and cheap price, while electronic products made in Thailand are getting stuck in the middle.
