In this paper, the type of obstacle micro mixer model was designed and investigated by numerical simulation to improve the mixing efficiency. Passive mixers with tail-added obstacles structures were studied and compared with other conventional T microstructures, and then their mixing performance was numerically evaluated.

In this paper, three conformal cooling channel designs are proposed for obtaining uniform cooling over the molded parts. The research is conducted by using CAE software (MOLDEX 3D) to simulate the injection process and compare the results of three conformal cooling channel designs with molded part cooling by moldbase.

The present paper focus on the phenomenon of unsteady flow which happens in complex headrace channel of hydropower project when flow rate suddenly changes. In practice, this problem has not been well taken into account in design and operation process, especially when the effects of intake, lateral weir and fore-bay on the headrace channel simultaneously considered.

This research project investigates the relationship between music composition, particularly electronic pop, and sound design (the editing/mixing of sound for cinema), with its main focus on Multi-channel (Surround Sound) techniques. It proposes new practices that extend music compositional tools into embracing spatial techniques employed by sound design. My research encompasses both the conceptual development (ie spatial techniques in creating narratives) and the practical issues relating to the production and technology needed for such works.

The resistivity method in geophysics is used to solve various geological and engineering problems. Recently, this nondestructive method has been used on trees to investigate possible infections within the trunks by scanning resistivity variations. In this study, the electrical resistivity method has been aimed to be applied on various trees in Istanbul, Turkey to test whether the method applies to trees via regular resistivity measurement devices used in geophysics.

In this study, we isolated a 25-kDa novel snake venom protein, designated ablomin, from the venom of the Japanese Mamushi snake (Agkistrodon blomhoffi). The amino-acid sequence of this protein was determined by peptide sequencing and cDNA cloning. The deduced sequence showed high similarity to helothermine from the Mexican beaded lizard (Heloderma horridum horridum), which blocks voltage-gated calcium and potassium channels, and ryanodine receptors. In the photosynthetic bacterium Rhodobacter capsulatus, the synthesis of the energy-producing hydrogenase, HupSL, is regulated by the substrate H2, which is detected by a regulatory hydrogenase, HupUV. The HupUV protein exhibits typical features of [NiFe] hydrogenases but, interestingly, is resistant to inactivation by O2. Understanding the O2 resistance of HupUV will help in the design of hydrogenases with high potential for bio-technological applications.
