  • Since the establishment of the conductive properties of intrinsic conductive polymers, a huge variety of basic and applied research has been carried out, involving different polymers, copolymers, blends, mixtures and composites. Thus, fundamental understanding of physical and chemical properties of these materials has been sought, while the applied aspects have advanced very rapidly, crossing the boundaries between disciplines. Today, the applications of conducting polymers in various fields such as neuroscience, nanotechnology and green chemistry, are easily found.

  • We show that the Dirichlet to Neumann map for the equation ∇·σ∇u = 0 in a two-dimensional domain uniquely determines the bounded measurable conductivity σ. This gives a positive answer to a question of A. P. Calder´n o from 1980. Earlier the result has been shown only for conductivities that are sufficiently smooth. In higher dimensions the problem remains open. Contents Introduction and outline of the method

  • We present the percolation-theory model for explanation of conductivity of perovskites based on the scaling property of grain boundary formation. Assuming a two-layer simple effective medium model, composed of the grain itself as a first layer and the boundary as a second layer, it was modeled that the net resistivity r of the medium depends on the average grain size L, boundary thickness L’ and boundary fractal dimension D.

  • In this paper, the rada absorption characteristics of conducting polymer nanocomposite were investigated. The complex permittivity and Rada attenuation values of nanocomposite were obtained using a network analyzer in the frequency ranges from 50 MHz to 50 GHz. Reflection loss strongly depends on thickness and complex permitivity and volume faction of conducting polymer of materials.

  • Effect of wollastonite nanofibers on the improvement of thermal conductivity coefficient of Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF) was studied here to find a possible solution to decrease hot-press time as a bottle-neck during composite production. Nanowollastonite was applied at 10%, based on the dry weight of wood fibers. Density of the control MDF boards was 0.66 g/cm3. Thermal conductivity coefficient was measured using an apparatus based on Fourier’s Law for heat conduction.

  • If we connect a battery across a body, there is a movement of free electrons towards the positive end. This movement of electrons is an electric current. All materials can be classified into three groups according to how readily they permit an electric current to flow. These are: conductors, insulators, and semiconductors. In the first category are substances which provide an easy path for an electric current. All metals are conductors, however some metals do not conduct well. Manganin, for example, is a poor conductor. Copper is a good conductor, therefore it is widely used for cables.

  • When preparing to conduct a site survey for a Cisco wireless LAN (WLAN) installation, follow the Cisco network design methodology. Cisco’s Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate and Optimize (PPDIOO) addresses the network in a phased approach. This white paper provides a “how to” overview that can be used when conducting a site survey and installation for a Cisco WLAN. In doing so, the Prepare, Plan, Design and Implement phases should be followed.

  • Worked examples are a necessary element to any textbook in the sciences, because they reinforce the theory (i.e. the principles, concepts and methods). Once the theory has been understood, well chosen examples can be used, with modification, as a template to solve more complex, or similar problems. This work book contains examples and full solutions to go with the text of our e-book (Heat Transfer, by Long and Sayma). The subject matter corresponds to the five chapters of our book: Introduction to Heat Transfer, Conduction, Convection, Heat Exchangers and Radiation....
