Measles (see section below on vaccine-preventable diseases), ARI, diphtheria and pertussis are transmitted from person to person through respiratory droplets, and the risks are increased in situations of forced relocation to shared areas which are overcrowded and have inadequate ventilation. Overcrowding can also increase the likelihood of transmission of meningitis, waterborne and vector-borne diseases.

  • The effects of several physical parameters on the water sheet oscillation are studied by determining the variation of the temporal growth rate with the wavenumber. It is found that a larger relative steam velocity to water velocity has a tendency to destabilize the water sheet with increased dynamic pressure. On the other hand, a larger ratio of steam boundary layer to the half water sheet thickness has a stabilizing effect on the water sheet oscillation.

  • Broadmeadow and Freer-Smith (1996) described three methods of particular deposition: sedimentation; precipitation and impaction. Sedimentation and precipitation occur due to gravity and collision with rain droplets respectively, and are unaffected by vegetation. Impaction occurs when a laminar air stream is disrupted as it passes the aerodynamically rough plant surfaces, while the particle continues in a straight line and strikes the obstacle, either through direct interception or electrostatic attraction.

  • This work mentions the effect of polyethylene oxide (PEO) content on some characteristics and properties of polylactic acid (PLA)/chitosan (CS) films loading nifedipine (NIF). The films were prepared by solution method with various PEO content in the range of 0 to 10 wt% in comparison with total weight of both PLA and CS. The water contact angle, droplet size values and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) images of the films were used to investigate their morphology and hydrophobicity.

  • The microfluidic system was fabricated with lithography technique. The 3D simulation was performed based on COMSOL software using level set method. The size of droplet is inversely proportional to the flow rate of continuous phase according to exponential function, linearly proportional with the flow rate of dispersed phase, and the width of lateral channel decrease.
