The data of education and training system, which have been and are being gathered, are implicit for allowing the use of OLAP and Data Mining. In order to implement these applications, it is needed to construct a data warehouse. Based on that foundation, we will quickly and effectively have much of useful information in study, statistics and discovery. This information will be used to advise and help Managers in decision making. In our report, the implementation of a data warehouse for a pedagogic university and its effects in education are presented.

This paper introduces a massive open online course (MOOC) on educational technology, and studies the factors that may influence learners’ participation and performance in the MOOC. Students’ learning records captured in the course management system and students’ feedback collected from a questionnaire survey are explored. Regression analysis is adopted to examine the correlation among perceived learning experience, learning activities and learning outcomes; data mining is applied to optimize the correlation models.

To understand this in a given context, we propose Sternberg-Wagner test analysis and data mining as class tool to identify student behavior patterns and its influence on selected variables (scores, gender, choice of small group for class tasks). As the study shows, significant differences have been detected between sexes as to the form they prefer to do a task, and the way they conceive it. Knowing this can help to better class planning, insofar identifies strengths and weaknesses that otherwise might not have been detected.
