  • This FY 2013 budget builds upon current efforts to transition toward using 21 Century technology in enforcement and compliance, resulting in long-term savings to the federal government, states, and the regulated community as the overall cost of compliance is reduced. Investments in new technology, including e-reporting and more advanced monitoring tools, will allow the EPA and our state partners to more easily identify, investigate, and address the worst violations that affect our communities.

  • This paper explores the effect that different corpus configurations have on the performance of a coreference resolution system, as measured by MUC, B3 , and CEAF. By varying separately three parameters (language, annotation scheme, and preprocessing information) and applying the same coreference resolution system, the strong bonds between system and corpus are demonstrated. The experiments reveal problems in coreference resolution evaluation relating to task definition, coding schemes, and features. ...

  • In this work, the reactor kinetics capability is used to compute the design safety parameters in a PWR due to complete loss of coolant flow during protected and unprotected accidents. A thermal-hydraulic code coupled with a point reactor kinetic model are used for these calculations; where kinetics parameters have been developed from the neutronic SRAC code to provide inputs to RELAP5-3D code to calculate parameters related to safety and guarantee that they meet the regulatory requirements. In RELAP5-3D the reactivity feedback is computed by both separable and tabular models.
