The study is focused on the experience of conferencing from the perspective of young people (offenders), their families and supportive others. Of particular interest is the role of the offender’s family (and/or significant others), the nature of their support, and how this impinges on the conference and its outcomes. Although the supporters’ role is pivotal in the conferencing process, its significance has remained largely implicit in the research to date. The objective of the study is to explore this crucial element, using an interpretive approach.

This explorative descriptive design study explores the engagement between General Practitioners (GPs) and community mental health staff working to care for mental health consumers. Mental health clinicians, community support workers and General Practitioners working closely with mental health clients were invited to complete a web-based survey using Survey Monkey. A total of 653 GPs and 850 mental health workers participated in the study. Consent to participate in the study was implied by the completion of the anonymous survey.

This document is an Appropriate Durable Record (ADR) of my Masters of Fine Art research project, titled, A moment of beauty: An Archive of Intimate Engagements. The ADR contains photographic documentation of my artwork produced through this investigation along with a written reflective process – outlining the objectives of the research, identifying research questions, describing how the artworks were created and evaluated. The central focus of this research is studio based painting and drawing. The intention of the artwork is to locate beauty ‘in a moment’.

This study reveals the significant influence of supplier-countries’ contexts on CoC compliance in terms of labour rights protections. By doing so, it expands the scope of debate by highlighting the importance of local context to the implementation of MNCs’ CoCs in supplier-countries. Furthermore, the findings make important contributions to current understandings of the labour rights environment of MNCs in China.

The study examines how Small-Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) demonstrate a range of innovation capabilities when they collaborate with a regional university research centre. This collaboration is shown to be important to create and exchange new knowledge to advance the firms innovation performance. The study demonstrates the ability of firms to acquire and exploit this knowledge, which is a business competency described as absorptive capacity (AC). AC relies on several antecedents or factors to engage with a collective learning process.

The research reported here addresses the question of what is required to engage stakeholders to create effective change. It is a case study of one organisation, Melbourne Water, which is located in Victoria, Australia. The research is undertaken using a qualitative, action research framework and a systems psychodynamic perspective. Volunteer participants participated in one-on-one interviews and focus groups. The data is also generated through organisational observations and reflection utilising the methods of supervision and journaling.

The overall aim of this thesis is to add to the literature regarding CPD for professional accountants, especially CPD for the IICPA members by investigating members’ understanding of, and, engagement in CPD, and by investigating the influence of the CPD drivers and CPD outcomes on the members’ engagement to CPD using the theoretical framework constructed in this thesis. It is also the aim of this thesis to provide findings to assist the IICPA and the MoF to develop CPD policy and improve activities.

This study explored the gaps in the literature through a qualitative study with a small group of VET practitioners placed within the one TAFE site, who, between them, showed some variety within their background and practice. Seven VET teachers were interviewed regarding their current use of eLearning within their teaching practice; including current understandings and use of technology, what issues they experienced, and how they felt the use of e-Learning had impacted them and their learners, specifically in relation to learner engagement.
