EU – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement

This paper aims to show the main achievements of trade relations between Visegrad countries and Vietnam in recent years. It brings detailed information about the main facts and trends in the foreign trade of the Visegrad countries with Vietnam and compares their trade pattern in the period 1995-2020. In this paper, the research methods of description, data analysis, and comparison were utilized.

The findings of this study will demonstrate the influence of the EVFTA on Vietnam's rice exports to EU nations, giving a scientific foundation for managers and enterprises to implement suitable strategies to maximize the benefits of the agreement for Vietnam's rice exports.

In order for Vietnam to enhance welfare gains from the integration, there has been analysis on impacts for Vietnam. Vietnamese government is expected to support firms with understanding about the EVFTA, market information on quality standards, labour and environmental requirements, building capacity to improve quality and value of exporting products including rice exports.

This thesis aims at analysing EVFTA’s NTMs on garment and textile exports to the EU, providing insights into current situation of application of EVFTA’s NTMs on garment and textile exports, analysing impacts of EVFTA’s NTMs on garment and textile exports using the gravity model, pointing out opportunities and challenges for garment and textile industry from EVFTA’s NTMs using the SWOT matrix, and finally making suggestions for the government and businesses in the sector on the way forward.
