  • The present study indicated that Aonla fruits extract reduced the growth of Aspergillus niger, Alternaria brassicae and Pencillium notatum at (10, 20, 30 and 40%) concentrations as compared to control within 10 days after incubation. Antimicrobial activity of five edible pulp of minor fruit germplasms resulted that Aonla fruits extract was recorded highest antimicrobial activity as compared to other tested fruit extracts.

  • The aim of the present study is to characterize eight hundred twenty nine germplasm of sesame and identify the candidate genotypes from indigenous gene-pool of Sesamum indicum L. The experiment was executed at Project Coordinating Unit (Sesame and Niger) Research Farm, JNKVV, Jabalpur (M.P.) in unreplicated Augmented Block Design using 17 attributing characters.

  • The present study ―Genetic variability analysis of yield and its components in Niger [(Guizotia abyssinica (L. f.) Cass.]‖ was carried out at the Instructional cum Research Farm of S.G. College of Agriculture and research station, Jagdalpur (C.G.) Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.) during Kharif 2017. The experimental material comprised of 50 Niger germplasm and 3 check variety of Niger.

  • The present investigation entitled “Correlation and Path Analysis for Different Characteristics in Germplasm of Niger (Guizotia abyssinica (L.f) Cass.)” was undertaken during Kharif 2018. The experiment was carried out in Randomized block Design (RBD) with two replications to derive Correlation coefficient and Direct and Indirect effects in 45 germplasm of Niger.

  • A study was undertaken to determine the extent of genetic variability for seed yield and ten other quantitative characters and two qualitative characters in 45 genotypes of Niger. The analysis of variance revealed significant differences among genotypes for all the characters. High genotypic coefficient and phenotypic coefficient of variation was recorded for number of secondary branches per plant followed by number of capitula per plant, 1000 seed weight, seed yield per plant, number of seed per capitula and number of primary branches per plant, days to 50% flowering.

  • The groundnut germplasm and varieties were evaluated to identify the sources of resistance to collar rot (Aspergillus niger), stem rot (Sclerotium rolfsii) and dry root (Rhizoctonia bataticola) diseases. A total of 64 AICRP groundnut germplasm and 33 popular groundnut varieties were screened under sick plot condition at MARS, Raichur. Only 31 germplasm showed highly resistant to stem rot; 37 germplasm lines resistance against collar rot; and 11 germplasm showed resistant against dry root rot diseases.
