  • Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, and ozone, play an important role in balancing the temperature of the Earth’s surface by absorbing and emitting radiation within the thermal infrared range from the source. However, with the enormous burning of fossil fuels from the industrial revolution, the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has greatly increased.

  • Understanding greenhouse gas sources, emissions, measurements, and management is essential for capture, utilization, reduction, and storage of greenhouse gas, which plays a crucial role in issues such as global warming and climate change. Taking advantage of the authors' experience in greenhouse gases, this book discusses an overview of recently developed techniques, methods, and strategies: - A comprehensive source investigation of greenhouse gases that are emitted from hydrocarbon reservoirs, vehicle transportation, agricultural landscapes, farms, non-cattle confined buildings, and so on.

  • Paddy straw is one of the major agriculture waste produced in India. Burning of paddy straw is one of the easy options for farmers due to its difficult handling which produces environmental problem generating greenhouse gases. Size reduction of paddy straw is necessary for almost it’s every possible utilization for biofuel production. Torrefaction mainly used to process lignocellulosic biomass that makes them easily cut, chop or grind. Torrefaction was carried out at 250°C for 20 and 30 minutes and compared its effect on energy requirement for size reduction with that of raw paddy straw.

  • Rice cultivation is being focused as a prime contributor to climate change due to the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. In aspect to study the reduction of the GHGs emission, experiment trial was conducted with eight different soil amendment combinations viz., recommended dose of Fertilizers (RDF), fly ash, Biochar, Gypsum, Silica Solubilizing Bacteria (SSB), fly ash + SSB, Biochar + SSB, Gypsum + SSB.

  • Mekong delta has been well known for rice production of Viet Nam and had great contribution of rice export of Viet Nam and for acid sulfate and alluvial soils. Greenhouse gases emission from rice has been raised for its contribution to global warming. The technique of An Giang alternate wetting and drying (AAWD) has been recommended used for reduction of greenhouse gases.

  • Climate change is a serious environmental challenge and our Government has an aggressive strategy to tackle it. We will set mandatory reduction targets for all major industries that produce greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, that cause climate change. Our strategy is real, it begins immediately and it will lead to concrete results with challenging, but realistic emissions targets for industry. These targets will be tough and they will be tightened each and every year.

  • The rapid increase in emissions of major greenhouse gases such as CO2 and CH4 in the last decade has seriously affected the climate change and the living environment in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular. In addition, the demand for effective use of CO2 - rich natural gas has promoted studies to find new, highly active and stable catalysts for the methane reforming process. NiO has proven to be the most suitable catalyst for industrial application of the reforming process.

  • By inadvertently increasing the concentration of energy-trapping gases in the lower atmosphere, human actions have begun to amplify Earth’s natural green- house effect. The primary challenge facing the world community is to achieve sufficient reduction in greenhouse gas emissions so as to avoid dangerous inter- ference in the climate system. National governments, via the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC), are committed in principle to seeking this outcome.
