  • Developing Asia achieved impressive economic growth in the last decade and had remarkable success in lifting large numbers of people in the region out of poverty. At the same time, recent evidence suggests that in many growing economies of developing Asia, rising income disparities are widening the gap between the rich and the poor.

  • The green growth prediction plays an important role to assess and monitor the growth rate of a local region. Managers and researchers can make timely adaptation policy to improve and innovate economic, cultural and environmental performance to impulse the green growth. The study used the methods such as the multiple criteria analysis, analytic hierarchy process, principal component analysis, and the grey theory model to build and integrate green growth indicators into the green growth index.

  • THE ROLE OF IMPORT SUBSITITUTION AND EXPORT ORIENTATION STRATEGIES ON THAILAND'ECONOMIC GROWTH This result calls the incentive effects of Tiebout choice into question, as it indicates that administrators of effective schools are no more likely to be rewarded with high demand for local housing in high-choice than in low-choice markets. To explore this further, I estimate models for the effect of Tiebout choice on mean scores across metropolitan areas. Consistent with the earlier results, I find no evidence that high-choice markets produce higher average SAT scores.

  • The finding indicates that governance always positively affects the economy. However, when it interacts with public finance, this interaction has a diverse effect on economic growth in developed countries, depending on tax revenue or government expenditure. Nevertheless, in developing countries, this interaction has a beneficial impact on the growth of an economy.

  • The results showed that the obtained ZnO NWs have diameters in the range of 300–350 nm with lengths of several tens micrometers. The prepared ZnO NWs are of a single crystal, which have a hexagonal wurtzite crystal structure with c–axis (002) orientation growth perpendicular to the substrate surface. The NW arrays had a good crystal quality with excellent optical properties, indicating a sharp and strong ultraviolet emission at 380 nm, and a weak visible emission at around 516 nm.

  • This research introduces green growth, an approach that is more specific than the sustainable development approach. Based on OECD analyses of green growth, the research selects some measuring indicators used for assessing the green growth in Vietnam and then suggests some implications for policies on this approach.

  • industry spending, analysis of the economic impacts of this activity, and projections of future drilling, natural gas production, and related economic impacts (Considine, et al., 2009, 2010). Unlike the previous studies, however, this report estimates the impact Marcellus production has on prices for natural gas and expenditures for natural gas and electricity in Pennsylvania. This report also presents an analysis of labor market and sales tax data that affirms the economic stimulus provided by the Marcellus industry.

  • Almost half of the patients experience arthritis in the hips or the shoulders. Up to 30% of the patients suffer from small joint involvement with swelling, pain and stiffness in the inflamed joints. Often these appear as asymmetrical oligoarthritis. Usually they are non- erosive, but deformity and consequently destruction of the hips have been seen. An early involvement of peripheral joints can be an indicator of a more aggressive progress. Peripheral joint involvement can occur at any stage of the disease (Sieper J, Braun J, Rudwaleit M, Boonen A, Zink A) (Gladman DD). ...

  • A vast literature focuses on the predictability of U.S. and international stock returns using macroe- conomic variables, such as the short government interest rate or the yield spread between defaultable and government bonds. For instance, Ferson and Harvey (1993) nd that returns on international stock indexes are predictable using macroeconomic indicators as conditioning variables. More strikingly, Ferson and Harvey (1999) nd that broad economic variables explain the cross-sectional variation in U.S. individual stock returns better than the Fama and French (1993) empirical factors.

  • Recently, Th17 cells were identified as a new subset of T helper cells unrelated to Th1 or Th2 cells. They are a subset of T helper cells characterized by IL-17 production, differentiated from naïve T cells in the presence of both transforming growth factor (TGF)-β and IL-6 in mice, and are implicated in the pathogenesis of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE) and collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) (Langrish et al. 2005).

  • In addition to describing the design of the Gamma software, a thorough performance evaluation of the iPSC/2 hypercube version of Gamma is also presented. In addition to measuring the effect of relation size and indices on the response time for selection, join, aggregation, and update queries, we also analyze the performance of Gamma relative to the number of processors employed when the sizes of the input relations are kept constant (speedup) and when the sizes of the input relations are increased proportionally to the number of processors (scaleup).

  • The Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) radiation from the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) satellite mission (14) is one of the main sources of data about the early universe. Deciphering the CMB in terms of the density perturbations, gravity wave polarization, power spectrum and its various indices is a formidable task. It also requires the heavy CMB mathematical formalism based on General Relativity — see eg., the textbooks (17–19).

  • Economists use the term equilibrium in the same way as the word is used in physics, to represent a steady state in which opposing forces are balanced, so that the current state of the system tends to persist. In the context of supply and demand, equilibrium refers to a condition where the pressure for higher prices is exactly balanced by a pressure for lower prices, and thus that the current state of exchange between buyers and sellers can be expected to persist. When the price is such that the quantity supplied of a good or service exceeds the...
