Data clustering tools can uncover new knowledge to be used in cancer diagnosis and treatment. In this study, we proposed a novel method to cluster records of a relation. First, we designed an algorithm that calculates the similarity between record pairs of the relation, and then this similarity measure was used to generate a network corresponding to the relation.

Accurate and rapid phenotyping is a prerequisite to leveraging electronic health records for biomedical research. While early phenotyping relied on rule-based algorithms curated by experts, machine learning (ML) approaches have emerged as an alternative to improve scalability across phenotypes and healthcare settings.

This study aims to describe the association between sharp score and clinical indexes, bone metabolism indexes, Disease Activity Score (DAS28) and sociodemographic factors in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Data were collected from the HIS (hospital information system), a national inpatient database in China, with information on the patients hospitalized during the period from 2012 to 2019. The association between sharp score and effective factors were identifed using multinomial logistic regression and association rule mining (ARM).

This paper investigates the issues of under-treatment and uncertainty condition of acute asthma cases in ED. A novel approach, known as the fuzzy logic principle is employed to determine the severity of acute asthma. The fuzzy set theory, known as Fuzzy Rule-based Expert System for Asthma Severity (FRESAS) determination is embedded into the expert system (ES) to assess the severity of asthma among patients in ED.

Structural modeling of protein-protein interactions produces a large number of putative configurations of the protein complexes. Identification of the near-native models among them is a serious challenge. Publicly available results of biomedical research may provide constraints on the binding mode, which can be essential for the docking.

Pyoderma is the commonest skin infection in children. The awareness about regional pattern of isolates, their antibiotic sensitivity and resistance pattern is of utmost importance in treating them. Aims of the study are 1) To study the bacteriological profile of pyoderma in children 2) To assess the antibiotic sensitivity pattern. 3) To determine the resistance pattern. Cases of primary and secondary pyoderma in paediatric age group attending Dermatology outpatient department in a tertiary care teaching hospital over a period of one year were enrolled in this study.

The object-oriented image analysis delineates segments of homogeneous image areas. The delineated segments are classified to real world objects based on spectral, textural, neighbourhood an object specific shape parameter. Object-oriented classification of highresolution imagery is a challenging job for the remote sensing community. Identification of the object-oriented classes based on objects leads to better classification. In this project, the object-oriented classification for tomato in Shoolagiri and surrounding villages of Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu, India.

Finger millet is an excellent source of mineral elements specifically calcium and iron. The iron content in the ruling variety, GPU-28 is 5.47 mg/100g. Identification of germplasm lines superior to GPU-28 would help in identifying nutritionally superior genotypes and also to serve as genetic resource for recombination breeding. For such screening, use of appropriate procedure and bench mark values are highly useful. Hence, the present study was conducted to confirm the estimation procedure and to arrive at bench mark values for grain iron content in popular varieties.

Staphylococcus haemolyticus is part of the human normal skin microflora and is also found in nonhuman primates. This organism has been documented as a cause of primary and nosocomial bacteremia in clinical health care settings. Though CONS is ruled out as a contaminant, the emergence of multidrug-resistant isolates to glycopeptides, methicillin, fluoroquinolones, macrolides, lincosamides, streptogramin B and linezolid results in treatment failure in primary bacteremia.
