  • The research results indicated a positve efect of the pre-academic science center actvites on scientfc thinking skills. A signifcant improvement in the students' inquiry and graphing skills was found, yet non signifcant diferences were found in argumentaton skill. The students signifcantly improved their ability to ask research questons based on reading a scientfc text, and to describe and analyze research results that were presented graphically.

  • This paper describes a large motion in the Koyulhisar town center obtained from one GPS point. Twelve GPS points were set up in the Koyulhisar landslide region; 6 periods of GPS measurements were performed. The resultant data were processed using Bernese V5.0 software and coordinate information related to the points was obtained. In this study, the relationship between large motion and external forces was mathematically determined in a different way from previous studies.

  • The Monterey Bay Region benefits from science-based adaptation planning that places value on a healthy social-ecological ecosystem. We co-developed a methodological engagement framework to support an iterative place-based process among natural resource managers, the planning community, and the community of technical experts (e.g., economists, scientists, lawyers). In collaboration with local decision makers, we are evaluating the effects of adaptation strategies on ecosystem services provided by natural dune and wetland systems to inform decision making at the local government level.
