Metaphorically

The purpose of this thesis is to explore how metaphor-based interactions can enhance the behavioural interactions in project environments to deliver better outcomes. It documents the processes and findings from an action research program to investigate the impact of combining metaphor, conversation and reflective practice techniques into a new model, the Reflective Performance Cycle (RPC) to stimulate richer and more productive interactions between project team members.

The thesis aims at examining the metaphors of season in English and Vietnamese songs in the light of Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT). Subsequently, a comparison is made to find out the similarities and differences between the conceptual metaphors of season in English and Vietnamese song lyrics when SEASON is treated as a target domain as well as a source domain. Simultaneously, several explanations are given as causes for these similarities and differences.

Its aim is to have an insight into how metaphors are correlated to human physical experience and constructed in economic reports. In addition, the analysis of this correlation will set foundation for later categorization of the source domains which are exploited in the metaphors in these economic reports.
