Modeling Hydrologic Change: Statistical Methods is about modeling systems where change has affected data that will be used to calibrate and test models of the systems and where models will be used to forecast system responses after change occurs. The focus is not on the hydrology. Instead, hydrology serves as the discipline from which the applications are drawn to illustrate the principles of modeling and the detection of change. SWAT model was used to assess the impacts of climate change on the streamflow of Ben Hai River Basin. The daily streamflow for 1979 - 1996 and 1997 - 2006 was used to calibrate and validate the SWAT model, respectively. Nash efficiency values for the daily comparison were 0.72 for the calibration period and 0.74 for the validation period. The topic of calibration and verification of rainfall-runoff model has been subject of many researches. However, most of the researches using the continuous data for this task, while in the conditions of Vietnam, it is difficult to collect the sub-day continuous data. This leads to the need for methods that can calibrate and verify the model parameters from the event data. This paper introduces such a method. Idea of the method is to combine the auto-calibration and trialand-error methods.

This paper demonstrates that the use of ensemble methods and carefully calibrating the decision threshold can significantly improve the performance of machine learning methods for morphological word decomposition. We employ two algorithms which come from a family of generative probabilistic models. The study of natural catastrophe models plays an important role in the prevention and mitigation of disasters. After the occurrence of a nat- ural disaster, the reconstruction can be financed with catastrophe bonds (CAT bonds) or reinsurance. This paper examines the calibration of a real parametric CAT bond for earthquakes that was sponsored by the Mexican government. The calibration of the CAT bond is based on the estimation of the intensity rate that describes the earthquake process from the two sides of the contract, the reinsurance and the capital markets, and from the historical data.

The meteorological archive contains what is believed to be the longest continuous daily climate series from a single site in the UK and Ireland and one of the longest in the world. The climate station has been continuously maintained since 1795, with readings currently taken every day at 09:00 (GMT). Calibration of these data has enabled researchers and government agencies to use the Armagh series for reports and research into global warming. This is a subject of strategic importance for Northern Ireland as we move into an era of rapid climate change.
