Network Communications Standards

This book presents a thorough overview of 3G networks and standards and discusses interworking and hand over mechanisms between WLANs and the Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS). Everyone believed that the OSI model would become the ultimate standard for data communications - but this did not happen.
