The objective of my research is to develop a body of work for exhibition based on an examination of the ways that corporate space, as exemplified by the foyers and conference rooms of contemporary corporate offices, reflect societal anxieties about wealth and power. These works will draw on the history of painting, with particular reference to 17th century Dutch still life painting, as a framework within which to conduct the exploration of contemporary space.

The key text chosen for this study is the contemporary American novel The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Whilst Sebold‟s first book Lucky was the autobiographical account of her own rape, The Lovely Bones is Sebold‟s first novel, and tells the fictional story of the rape and murder of fourteen year old Susie Salmon, in December 1973 on the eve of her high school career.

The objectives are as follows a compact presentation of human actions: Joints in the skeleton model play different roles in each action. The first objective is to find action representations that are efficient for action recognition.

Furthermore, experiments on the task of RE proved that data representation is one of the most influential factors to the model’s performance but still has many limitations. We propose a compositional embedding that combines several dominant linguistic as well as architectural features and dependency tree normalization techniques for generating rich representations for both words and dependency relations in the SDP

This study investigates men and women’s representations in TV advertisements in Vietnam from a multimodal critical discourse analysis perspective. The data comprise of almost one hundred TV advertisements aired on principle TV channels in Vietnam such as VTV and HTV. The framework in use is Fairclough’s (2001), in which part of Kress and van Leeuwen’s visual grammar (1996) is incorporated for a multimodal discourse analysis of the advertisements.

Our thesis shows the quality of semantic vector representation with random projection and Hyperspace Analogue to Language model under about the researching on Vietnamese. The main goal is how to find semantic similarity or to study synonyms in Vietnamese. We are also interested in the stability of our approach that uses Random Indexing and HAL to represent semantic of words or documents. We build a system to find the synonyms in Vietnamese called Semantic Similarity Finding System. In particular, we also evaluate synonyms resulted from our system.

We show that, on the level of derived categories, representations of the Lie algebra of a semisimple algebraic group over a field of finite characteristic with a given (generalized) regular central character are the same as coherent sheaves on the formal neighborhood of the corresponding (generalized) Springer fiber.

In the first three parts of this series, we considered quadratic, cubic and quartic rings (i.e., rings free of ranks 2, 3, and 4 over Z) respectively, and found that various algebraic structures involving these rings could be completely parametrized by the integer orbits of an appropriate group representation on a vector space. These orbit results are summarized in Table 1.

We characterize precisely the possible rate of decay of the anti-analytic half of a trigonometric series converging to zero almost everywhere. 1. Introduction 1.1. In 1916, D. E. Menshov constructed an example of a nontrivial trigonometric series on the circle T ∞ (1) n=−∞ c(n)eint which converges to zero almost everywhere (a.e.). Such series are called nullseries. This result was the origin of the modern theory of uniqueness in Fourier analysis, see [Z59], [B64], [KL87], [KS94]. Clearly for such a series |c(n)|2 = ∞.

The Fourier transform of a C ∞ function, f , with compact support on a real reductive Lie group G is given by a collection of operators φ(P, σ, λ) := π P (σ, λ)(f ) for a suitable family of representations of G, which depends on a family, indexed by P in a finite set of parabolic subgroups of G, of pairs of parameters (σ, λ), σ varying in a set of discrete series, λ lying in a complex finite dimensional vector space. The π P (σ, λ) are generalized principal series, induced from P . It is...

The infinite-dimensional unitary group U(∞) is the inductive limit of growing compact unitary groups U(N ). In this paper we solve a problem of harmonic analysis on U(∞) stated in [Ol3]. The problem consists in computing spectral decomposition for a remarkable 4-parameter family of characters of U(∞). These characters generate representations which should be viewed as analogs of nonexisting regular representation of U(∞). The spectral decomposition of a character of U(∞) is described by the spectral measure which lives on an infinite-dimensional space Ω of indecomposable characters. ...

In this paper we show that an odd Galois representation ρ : Gal(Q/Q) → ¯ GL2 (F9 ) having nonsolvable image and satisfying certain local conditions at 3 and 5 is modular. Our main tools are ideas of Taylor [21] and Khare [10], which reduce the problem to that of exhibiting points on a Hilbert modular surface which are defined over a solvable extension of Q, and which satisfy certain reduction properties. As a corollary, we show that Hilbert-Blumenthal abelian surfaces with ordinary reduction at 3 and 5 are modular. ...

We consider a specialization of an untwisted quantum affine algebra of type ADE at a nonzero complex number, which may or may not be a root of unity. The Grothendieck ring of its finite dimensional representations has two bases, simple modules and standard modules. We identify entries of the transition matrix with special values of “computable” polynomials, similar to Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials. At the same time we “compute” q-characters for all simple modules. The result is based on “computations” of Betti numbers of graded/cyclic quiver varieties.

We completely classify diffeomorphism covariant local nets of von Neumann algebras on the circle with central charge c less than 1. The irreducible ones are in bijective correspondence with the pairs of A-D2n-E6,8 Dynkin diagrams such that the difference of their Coxeter numbers is equal to 1. We first identify the nets generated by irreducible representations of the Virasoro algebra for c

We study the Radon transform Rf of functions on Stiefel and Grassmann manifolds. We establish a connection between Rf and G˚ arding-Gindikin fractional integrals associated to the cone of positive definite matrices. By using this connection, we obtain Abel-type representations and explicit inversion formulae for Rf and the corresponding dual Radon transform. We work with the space of continuous functions and also with Lp spaces.

Let G be a connected, real, semisimple Lie group contained in its complexification GC , and let K be a maximal compact subgroup of G. We construct a KC -G double coset domain in GC , and we show that the action of G on the K-finite vectors of any irreducible unitary representation of G has a holomorphic extension to this domain. For the resultant holomorphic extension of K-finite matrix coefficients we obtain estimates of the singularities at the boundary, as well as majorant/minorant estimates along the boundary. ...
