  • A hybrid process combining the turning-burnishing operation is a prominent solution to improve productivity due to the reduction in the auxiliary time. The objective presents a parameter-based optimization of the compressed air-assisted turning-burnishing (CATB) process to enhance the Vickers hardness (HN) and decrease the roughness (SR). The inputs are the cutting speed (V), depth of cut (a), feed rate (f), and ball diameter (D). A turning machine was used in conjunction with the turning-burnishing device to perform the experimental runs for aluminum 6061.

There are three types of shelling methods are available such as roller method, tumbler method and shearing method but out of this we selected roller method because it is oldest patented method and the gap between roller can be easily adjusted by screw mechanism. Developed machine is based on the principle of friction generated by the rubbing of pea pods between the two rollers. Machine fabricated by using the low cost material available in market.

  • In tillage tools used in India faces problem like, poor soil-tire interface, clod formation, compaction due to heavy traffic and timeliness in operation. Overcome to this practical problem, it was planned to develop a clod crusher cum planker for better seed bed preparation. To achieve this objective a prototype implement consisting of three different types of clod crusher rollers’ like square spike, round spike and spiral arrangement of spike were developed. The developed implement was tested in the field to evaluate its performance.

  • The Maximal Profit Model for reaching an optimal design of the production line undergoing the limitations of obtainable resources is presented in this paper. This model is treated as an integer programming problem, and an efficient step-by-step algorithm to solve this problem is also constructed. In addition, it is discussed that the operation cost of a machine does not include idle and breakdown situations while the maintenance cost for a broken machine should be considered.
