The established modified group chain acceptance sampling plans (MGChSP) only considered the consumer’s risk when developing the plans and turned down the producer’s risk, which means the established MGChSP satisfied the consumer but not the producer. Based on the above problem, this article proposes the minimum angle method for the MGChSP as the method considers both risks (consumer’s and producer’s) simultaneously. In order to develop the proposed MGChSP, the generalized exponential distribution is chosen as its lifetime distribution, and the time truncated simulation is done.

This study uses computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to understand partial pre-mixed compression combustion (PPCI), with HCCI and RCCI being advanced low-temperature combustion concepts. Lowering the average combustion temperature is an advantage of PCCI; it optimizes CO and NOx emission rates while maintaining high thermal efficiency.

In this study an optimal weather routing model (OWR) considers the meteorological and oceanographic information, ship’s characteristics combined with adaptive Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm will be proposed and applied for ship’ navigation. The simulation results will be presented to show the effectiveness as well as the reliability of this model. The OWR will make it possible for safe navigation, effective operation, energy efficiency and reduce emission from vessel.

In this paper, we introduce a novel simulation-based optimization method, CMAESEP, which couples the Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy Optimization Algorithm and the Epanet hydraulic simulator for optimal designing water distribution networks. Water demand uncertainty in a water supply system (WSS) arises mainly due to the abnormal behaviors of water users and the change of network configuration when it is expanded to new consumers. In practice, this directly impacts the optimal designed WSS. This paper presents a methodology to address the issue of water demand uncertainty in the designing a WSS that combines the Latin Hypercube Sampling Technique (LHST) and a multiobjective algorithm optimization.
