  • Agriculture is said to be a gamble with the vagaries of Monsoon. Most of the farmers face a lot of risky and uncertain situation in which they have to make decisions. Traditionally agricultural information is provided by state development departments, ICAR institutions, commodity boards and NGOs. The recent trend is private extension for high value crops. Farmer needs authentic information to make agriculture a viable and profitable venture. In this context, a study was planned to know the willingness of farmers to pay for better agricultural information.

  • In this study, the main hypothesis to be tested is whether the population of L. kunkelii is stable or not. The study site is located in Gran Canaria. Monthly censuses of the population recording size (height and diameter), mortality, regeneration, and presence of reproductive structures in each individual were carried out, and this monthly information of variables was correlated with climatic variables.

  • The present research paper describes the sacred plants found in the vicinity of five major temples of Bhopal, India. In addition, the ethnomedicinal and ecological values of these plants were also reported. The information was obtained from priests and knowledgeable local people about the sacred value of plants associated with religious rituals. A total of 13 sacred plants species belonging to 10 families were identified during the survey. The study concludes that propagation of sacred plants contributes to the conservation of floral diversity.

  • A study was conducted to analyze the perception and pesticides usage practices by the small tomato growers in Ramanagara district of Karnataka using the pretested questionnaire and field observations. Detailed Information was obtained from 129 tomato growers wherein the information related to extent and types of pesticides used, knowledge about pesticides and their effectiveness was collected. Most of the respondents (98.44%) were male and most commonly farmers use 25 pesticides in tomato ecosystem.

  • The study of food and feeding habits of Bos frontalis was aimed at extracting information regarding the conservation of Mithun (Bos Frontalis) whose population are declining at fast pace even with the distinct title of State animal of Nagaland and also their feeding habits. The main food preference of Bos frontalis were the leaf parts of the plants. The data showed that the leaf part of the plants were preferred by Bos frontalis almost 80% of the plant species the whole plant parts which consists of plant species where the leaves twigs and shoots were feed on by Bos frontalis.
