The research design adopted to address this problem utilised mixed data collection methodologies. In order to determine what was happening in the industry as a whole, a specially designed survey was conducted utilising both web-based and traditional paper-based instruments. This provided valuable quantitative data about the rate of uptake, types of companies and so on. To complement this, a focus group of selected representatives within the industry was conducted to delve more deeply into motivations behind the decision to adopt the technology and the perceived benefits derived from it.

This research investigates the interactive effects of usability, the designer perspective and user expectations on the user experience (UX) of e-commerce websites. It incorporates the theoretical underpinnings of Norman’s (1988) seminal research specifically, Mental Models and Nielsen’s User Categories (1993) to explore the different mental models, domain and technology expertise of two distinct groups – users and designers – in the interaction with a selected system image, that of the e-commerce website.

The nasal route for drug administration has the potential for local and systemic delivery of a wide variety of therapeutics. Nasal spray drug delivery has the potential to administer drugs to the bloodstream, avoiding the use of painful needles. While there is great potential, studies in the area are limited and somewhat conflicting. This study aimed to support the improvement of nasal drug delivery through experimental work on a model nasal cavity and through experimental characterisation of nasal spray behaviour. Four different brands of nasal spray were investigated.

Research purpose: to build an analytical model representing the cross Kerr nonlinear coefficient of a four-energy quantum system in the inverse Y configuration in the presence of the Doppler effect. Apply the analytical results to the case of 87Rb at room temperature. Studying the ability to control and enhance the cross Kerr nonlinearity according to the parameters of the associated laser field and the temperature of the environment.

Our thesis shows the quality of semantic vector representation with random projection and Hyperspace Analogue to Language model under about the researching on Vietnamese. The main goal is how to find semantic similarity or to study synonyms in Vietnamese. We are also interested in the stability of our approach that uses Random Indexing and HAL to represent semantic of words or documents. We build a system to find the synonyms in Vietnamese called Semantic Similarity Finding System. In particular, we also evaluate synonyms resulted from our system.

The vacuolar H + -ATPase (V-ATPase) is a multimeric enzyme complex that acidi®es organelles of the vacuolar system in eukaryotic cells. Proteins that interact with the V-ATPase may play an important role in controlling the intracellular localization and activity of the proton pump. The neuroendocrine-enriched V-ATPase accessory subunit Ac45 may represent such a protein as it has been shown to interactwith themembrane sector of theV-ATPase inonlya subset of organelles.

We measured cocrystals of the membrane protein Photosystem I with its soluble electron acceptor ferredoxin for the first time at the ALS (Berkeley, CA). Previous data collected at our home source and at other synchrotron sources showed crystals with very high mosaicity (2–5%) and a diffraction limit to 7–8 Aresolution. This first beamtime at ALS was very successful and may represent a breakthrough for the determination of the crystal structure. 110 crystals, grown under modified crystallization conditions, were scanned and for the first time, crystals diffraction to 3.5 A were observed....

Gas1p is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored plasma membrane glycoprotein ofSaccharomyces cerevisiaeand is a representative of Family GH72 of glycosidases/transgly-cosidases, which also includes proteins from human fungal pathogens. Gas1p, Phr1-2p from Candida albicansand Gel1p fromAspergillus fumigatushave been shown to be b-(1,3)-glucanosyltransferases required for proper cell wall assembly andmorphogenesis. Gas1p is organized into three modules: a catalytic domain; a cys-richdomain; andahighly O-glycosylated serine-rich region. ...

Programmed cell death is a major component of both normal development and disease. The roles of cell death during either embryogenesis or pathogenesis, the signals that modulate this event, and the mechanisms of cell demise are the major subjects that drive research in this field. Increasing evidence obtained both in vitro and in vivo supports the hypothesis that a variety of cell death programs maybe triggered in distinct circumstances.

Recently, cupin type phosphoglucose isomerases have been described as a novel protein family representing a separate lineage in the evolution of phosphoglucose isomerases. The importance of eight active site residues completely conserved within the cPGI family has been assessed by site-directed mutagenesis using the cPGI fromArchaeoglobus fulgidus(AfcPGI) as a model.

Histidine-containing protein (HPr) is a central metabolic sensor in low-GC Gram-positive bacteria and plays a dual role in sugar uptake by the phos-phoenolpyruvate–sugar phosphotransferase system and in transcriptional control during carbon catabolite repression. The latter process is mediated by interaction between HPr and the carbon catabolite repression master transcription regulator, carbon catabolite protein A (CcpA), a member of the LacI-GalR family of DNA-binding proteins.

Polyamine oxidase (PAO) and spermine oxidase (SMO) are involved in the catabolism of polyamines – basic regulators of cell growth and prolifer-ation. The discovery of selective inhibitors of PAO and SMO represents an important tool in studying the involvement of these enzymes in polyamine homeostasis and a starting point for the development of novel antineoplas-tic drugs.

Another class of linear codes, known as Convolutional codes. We study the structure of the encoder. We study different ways for representing the encoder.Convolutional codes offer an approach to error control coding substantially different from that of block codes. A convolutional encoder: encodes the entire data stream, into a single codeword. does not need to segment the data stream into blocks of fixed size (Convolutional codes are often forced to block structure by periodic truncation). is a machine with memory.
